Sure, and Bernie Bickerstaff has a higher winning percentage as Lakers coach than Pat Riley and Phil Jackson.
But trophies are the currency of the realm when it comes to success at the highest level of sport.

And Tuchel currently holds the greatest trophy of all.

Well even if I agreed with that... he didn't get it at BVB right?

I doubt there is a decent workaround. Chelsea does not have an adequate attacking midfielder who can manage the team by directing its offense with incisive short to medium range passes, left, right and center. If all the Chelsea eggs are to remain in the wingback basket, they will be broken and Chelsea will have a mighty struggle to remain in the top 4.

Maybe 4-2-3-1 with Havertz directing the attack behind Lukaku that's what I would try...

That is the same formation they run now with Mount and Kai at wingback. It would put a lot of attacking talent on the pitch at once... so I am kind of OK with it... I would just put Mount at RWB and Werner at LWB. I have no clue whatsoever why TT has not played Mount at RWB. He is a good tackler and serves good crosses into the box with his right foot. He is a stronger defender than CP by a decent margin so I am not sure why TT hasn't tried him there.?.? And I agree with luvdagame... Rudi over Christensen for sure.

    CP - Lukaku - Havertz
    Werner - Kova - Kante - Mount
    Rudi - Silva - Azpi

I would also like to see a formation with a single 6... I mean... if Kante is as "world class" as everyone says he is... then why not play him alone at CDM?

Actually, feel free to place! He’s a fine defender.

Chelsea has so much quality depth it’s ridiculous

I think with playing two wingbacks, you only have 3 true defenders. Putting 1 DM on the field would ask way too much from that position - too much ground to cover. 1 DM might work if TT went to a 4 man back line.

I guess I should have written that explicitly because I thought it was tacit... I am not sure there are many teams at all that run a 3 man backline with a single 6. I was thinking along the lines of a 4-3-3. Harder to do with James out though. Perhaps if they brought in Dest.

    CP - Lukaku - Werner
    Havertz - Kante - Mount
    Dest - Rudi - Silva - Odoi

I'm just messing with you. It's a pissing in the wind contest. Who cares, really? They are both good coaches. It's like discussing which is a better fruit, an orange or an apple? My only interest in Tuchel is that he is the coach of Pulisic. My only interest in Liverpool is ... I don't have any interest in Liverpool. The last American to play at Liverpool was Zak Whitbread. Who? Exactly.

I like that formation and line up with Harvertz and Mount into the midfield but given green light to support the front 3 as much as possible...and Kante anchoring to help out the back 4 or the 2 central backs if full backs pushes forward to support the attack.

Mount is strong enough to play deeper into the midfield and I think Harvertz has played there some.

Of course, that would require leaving out guys like Mateo and Jorginho which I don't mind leaving off since he's way too conservative with his passes.

    HUGE game today against Spuds.

Let's see if TT can inspire the players to put in a good effort today and take the 3 points.

Was just going to rescue CP, our all time most high profile player, who had fallen to #50 (!!) on the YA boards despite a crucial match. But you did it for me. Dropping that low a is a testament to the amazing rise of quality players abroad.

No idea if CP will start, but I have a weird feeling he might. Certainly the fact that he's well rested, maybe by design, means it's possible.

Well, was hoping he would miraculously get a shot at left wing, but was doubtful he would start. On the bright side, he should be rested enough for the USMNT

Maybe he should do an interview. Seems to have worked for Lukaku.

Time for him to have a great 3 game stretch for the US ....

He is done at CFC .. for whatever reason ....

I do wonder if he has had a VO2 test since coming back from COVID .... the loss of pace has been concerning for some time.

the good part in all of this is that he is still quite young. Just has to try and maintain a positive attitude ... perhaps he can talk with Josh Sargent about how change of life events can help lift you up.

It is no secret he is unhappy, it’s clear on his face and in his play. Journalists like Matt Law, who cover the team, said he is very frustrated but is doing what he is asked.
He and a couple other CFC players are tired of being moved all over the field and used in ways they would not prefer. Credit to him, though, he is being professional.
2 years left on his contract after this season, right? I bet his agent makes some phone calls this summer…
