Looks like A. Correa is a doubt now for the WCQ after Atletico's match.

With both Correa having injuries problems, I would bring in Lanzini and Simeone for these 2 matches.

Angel Correa also in doubt due to injury suffered during the Real Sociedad Copa Del Rey game. . . its getting closer and closer to the Gio Simeone-Icardi-Ocampos attacking trio we've all been waiting for

Julian to City? I do not like that move. Kun was at the same age when he made that move. But Kun was already a bona fide star in Europe. I do not think he’s at that level. He could get there but I do not think he’s going to hit the round running in the EPL like Kun.

Going directly to City will definitely take time for him to adapt. He won’t start. He’ll probably get minutes in some of the league cups but I believe moving to England is a major mistake. Italy or Spain should’ve been his destination. Of course, this is if the rumors are true.

As for Meza returning. Meh. He’s only getting called up because we are down a bunch of forwards. I highly doubt he even gets real minutes.

Let me get this right, we now have Maxi Meza in the squad but no Simeone or Lanzini?

Shit like this makes it really hard to be a fan of this team. Ridiculous.

How can I explain this to my friends of Serie A/Italy who ask questions like: who is Maxi Meza and where is Simeone?

God damn it, City Group and their endless pit of money..... yet at the same time they aren’t even paying the full buyout clause lol

Hopefully he doesn’t get lost in their bench or reserves. They probably have no real plans for him atm other than to send him on a series of loans, just snatching him to avoid letting the competition get their hands on him. But if they do eventually give him a chance, hopefully he does well. It’s been a while since we had a star in a top PL team.

As for Meza.... you know what, everytime I’m convinced more and more that Scaloni reads this board and decided to play a sick joke on us!

ManCity is going to be tough for Alvarez, but there is a path for him at ManCity. I always thought that his highest upside-potential is a more "clinical finisher Gabriel Jesus"; who is the best pressing forward in Europe.

So, the silver lightning here is that at ManCity, Alvarez can play with Jesus, who can teach Alvarez. And, Pep has a tracker record with these types of forwards.

At least ManCity is a stable club and not the mess that Barcelona, Milan, Madrid, Juventus, etc. all are. This is not the worst case scenario, the problem is that it has very HIGH upside-potential and downside-potential. Regardless, there is something that everyone can agree on, if Alvarez goes to ManCity and makes it (like Kun), then Argentina has a solid starter for a decade.

Sounds like in the summer 2023, when his contract expires.

Simeone had a subpar showing today for Verona. He had 2 1 v1 the goalie and failed to convert. He was subbed off and Verona went onto get a late winner. He needs to find his form from earlier in the season. I’ve noticed he’s been subbed off frequently in recent matches.

So, Barco appears to be on his way to River and Almada to Atlanta. Well, let’s see how Barco does as he returns back home. Almada going to the MLS is pretty sad. A number of talented players are being linked to the MLS. Facu Farias could also be moving to River as well. I’m kinda interested to see how he does. He is talented but at times, and he’s got a low IQ for the game. But if I were a River supporter, I’d be intrigued with these moves.

Angel Correa never reach 10 goals mark in one season, but he's currently has 8 after another goal at injury time. He also has 4 assists.

Papu with his trademark long range, with his weaker foot to the top corner.

Looks like the deal for Julian Alvarez will be worth about €21mm ($23.8mm).

ManCity just sold Ferran Torres to Barca for €55mm (plus conditional €10mm add-ons).

So basically ManCity upgraded from Ferran Torres to Julian Alvarez, and pocketed €44mm in the process. This is why Barca is doing so bad.

    ********************************************************
Also, there are rumors that the ManCity trade for Alvarez could have a player swap, with NYC FC sending Taty Castellanos to River (along with $$). If River can get enough money for Alvarez, I think that Castellanos coming back is a good deal for River

I’m glad to hear that Lo Celso could be returning to La Liga. Apparently, Sevilla are interested in a loan deal.

So we have 4 more qualifiers and then the Eurocopa vs Italy & potentially a friendly vs Brazil.

Any chance we squeeze another friendly in there in June? I know we’ll have room for a couple during the September break. Unfortunately it looks impossible to play any European sides, so which countries would you guys like to see?

For me, no more Conmebol teams. Also no to Mexico who we’ve played so often and looks poor at present. Ditto to Nigeria. I’d like to play any of these teams: the U.S., Iran, South Korea, Japan, Algeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast. Cameroon would also be interesting as they’re one of the only teams in the world who are ahead of us head-to-head (of course due to having only played twice).

FIFA allows 4 matches in June (not sure how Italy did it with a total of 5 matches in June with the Euroamerica game + 4 UEFA nations league matches)

I could imagine Scaloni only playing 2 matches in June though to give the players a lot of time to rest over the summer. Senegal, Morocco, USA/Canada and Iran would be my top 4. Also, totally agree to no more playing vs Mexico.
