Some interesting results so far today: City beat Chelski to go 13 puts up top Watford with a late header to split the points with Newcastle Norwich with a gutty win over Everton - adios Rafa? Norwich move up from 20th to 18th in the table. That relegation battle is heating up Wolves keep within distance of top 4 with comfortable win over Southampton Now for AVFC/Gerard to nick all the points off ManU to make it a great day.
Just got done with morning errands to watch Villa vs ManU as a nice lead in to the NFL playoffs. Unfortunately the local networks are all showing the stupid parade honoring the UGA football team. God I can't wait until college sports collapse in the US.
You didn't miss much...other than Emi with a howler through his arms and legs off a weak Bruno FK attempt in the 6". Yanited up 1-0 still 23" into the match now. It's suddenly feels odd (and good) that I haven't missed Emi once since Ramsdale came to the team. Last season was an entirely different matter.
It's tied now with AVFC scoring two goals in the last 15mins of regulation. Both good goals, including one by Coutinho who had just been introduced a few minutes before. 2-2 is a flattering result for Yanited, if this stands. Both of their goals have been off poor defensive lapses.
can anybody tell me what the fines are expected to be on wolves penalty? first wolves crowds the referee including moutinho throwing a tantrum then the southampton players did the same after the video review. any for the brouhaha at the 85th? not sure about comfortable win. 2nd goal looked offside to me, and southampton could easily have pulled even if that header was a fraction lower. also, jesus, ward-prowse is stupidly good at set piece.
win, win, win, win . . . This DEFINITELY won’t come back to haunt them pic.twitter.com/AtuknjtOf8— Jamie Weir (@jamiecweir) December 8, 2021
It was on Peacock too. That's where I watched it. I DVR'ed the parade. Didn't feel the need to watch it live as I was in Indy Monday night for the events making said parade possible.
Huzzah! WHU lose to Leeds today, so that helps Arsenal. In other news, Everton have dismissed Benitez.
In today's episode of Things We Love To See: Ghana 2 - 3 Comoros Ghana out of AFCON in the group stage, Partey comes home early.
And a 1-1 draw between Chelsea and Brighton means that Chelsea sit 9 points ahead of Arsenal. Arsenal has 3 matches in-hand. Interesting math there.
Wow. Good for tiny Comoros! In other news, Chelsea drew @ Brighton today. Possible they're dragged back down among those currently fighting for 4th?
Yup. Wouldn't mind in the least to be going head to head with Chelsea for 4th place, after having clobbered them in the EFL Cup Final.
I referred to this in the new MD thread, but I speculated that it might be too tight for him to be in our XI on Thursday. Does anyone actually know WHEN he'd be landing in UK?
If fully vaccinated and not coming from a red list country (there are none on the list right now), you just need to test within 2 days of arrival. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-...onavirus-covid-19#if-you-are-fully-vaccinated I don't live there though, so if any residents want to correct me, have at it.
Interesting Rory Smith article about Mosimare, the Al Ahly manager, and the glass ceiling for non-white, non-European coaches… https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/16/...so-mosimane.html?referringSource=articleShare
