"Does that kid remind anyone of Wes?" Kidding... Kidding... More like Harkes... Or Terry... freis, that's just mean...

Just praying for a couple of goals for Sargent and for them to stay up at this point. How is he actually playing in RM does he even look dangerous or just a lot of defending and back passes?
Teams around them, other than Newcastle have a lot of games in hand. I think Burnley has 4, Castle 1, and the other 3. Their position isn’t as good as the 3 pts makes it look, but it surely is better than it was.
1st goal was Sarge. Nice to see. Smith is probably too little too late, but you see how this team could have played and perhaps been competitive to stay up..
Even the own goal cross was more poor play by the Everton defender than some great cross by Josh. The good news is that he wasn’t a detriment, and he finally caught a positive break. Have to start somewhere. I agree on Smith. Probably to little to late, but he has made a big difference.
If, by some miracle, they do stay up that'll make Smith the coach of the season - coach of the century, actually. They've now played 22 out of 38 games and only today, with more than half the season gone, did they reach - not break, just reach - double figures in the Goals For column. And they've conceded an astonishing 45 goals for a GD of -35 goals. The next worst is Newcastle on -23. Can anyone remember the last time the team with the worst Goals For and Goals Against stayed up?
Seeing another coach with that name is just offensive. It’s like that mediocre 1980s pitcher/imposter with the name Bob Gibson.
Remember, no, but I looked it up. It was Norwich. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1972–73_Football_League#First_Division 36 goals for (worst by 2), 63 against (worst by 1), stayed up in 20th of 22. Wigan stayed up in 2009-10 with the worst goal differential in the league, but they weren't at the bottom of either goals for or against. That's the only time since 72-73 Norwich that the team with the worst goal differential has stayed up.
Amazing how that music made a mediocre (to be kind) Norwich-Everton match look like Chariots of Fire. On video, I know the cross looked kindof slow at first but because Josh took it early and it took that little skid, it was trickier than it looked for the defender. Had a took a touch and hit it harder, the defender would have been more set. Josh has the same problem of just being a 1/2 beat slow to make the decision or take the shot or position better to do the activity. He conquers that- and he’ll see more success at every bit of his game.
The next 2 games remain must win, Cup finals (if they want to have any shot) - Watford (A), this Wednesday - Crystal Place (H) in 2 weeks Given the quality of opposition, certainly not an impossible task. Win these next 2 and they will need 15 points from last 15 games to get to 34 points on season…which could very well be enough in this odd campaign. Again, not impossible…but they have to win next 2 games.
I think they're dead, but I have a glimmer of hope that Sarge is going to show enough to bail in the summer for a decent first division team somewhere in Europe. Although with three years left in his contract, in England, it's going to be difficult. Norwich, even in the Championship, is going to pay him more than nearly any team in the continent that could have any use for him. So the most likely is that he picks the money and goes the Bobby Wood route.
Please show me that, I will agree with you. But you can’t show me that, because that does not exist. Enjoy the continued mis-representations! (Full or partial!)
he's not going anywhere but into the Championship. there isn't a squad in europe that wants a borderline championship level player on EPL wages. maybe if he agreed to void his contract or some shit but Josh ain't dumb. I suppose maybe he has a relegation clause of some sort that could change that, but I'm not sure he had that much leverage when he signed.
Maybe Norwich's luck is changing a bit.....for the good! Witness Josh's 'goal' ......but also this important new development: The next game @ Watford (''Cup final for Norwich") has now been moved back 2 days to Friday, January 21st. Why is this significant? Norwich will now have SIX full days of rest before the game (with ability for very opponent-specific training sessions)........but their opponent Watford will now only have TWO days of rest before! The league decided to squeeze in a previously COVID-delayed game for Watford against physical Burnley this Tuesday. So this is a big break and material advantage for Norwich. No excuses for Smith NOT to take the 3 points this Friday. "Cup Final" But the biggest break of all would be if Newcastle decides to stop their Jan purchases at Chris Wood and Kieren Trippier. (no bigger names). This would keep Newcastle still as a potential relegation candidate, even if they are incrementally better. I believe most everyone expected a blizzard of high-priced deals to keep them up with more certainly. But maybe these owners don't care if they drop, they'll just spend like maniacs this summer. If so, seems risky to me! But certainly great for Norwich, if true. And if Chris Wood plays poorly at Newcastle, then Burnley and Newcastle could be two double losers off that trade and Norwich helped materially and perhaps significantly so.
