@ChuckMe92 spotted tweets about (and also by) him playing with Pumas and posted about it in the YNT forum. His name sounded familiar but I couldn't find a thread. seguimos con todo ! Vamos por mas 👊🏽🤍 @PumasMX https://t.co/C8qGNhStH6— Jorge A Ruvalcaba (@_jorgeeee17) November 30, 2021 https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/youth-yanks-abroad-‘01-‘04-yobs-and-younger-2020-21-thread.2113572/page-45#post-40116887 The LigaMX site has him as an American-born '01 listed with their U20s. https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:QjK-QBl0ypMJ:https://www.ligamx.net/cancha/jugador/150467/eyJpZENsdWIiOiA1MX0=/jorge-antonio-ruvalcaba-castro+&cd=19&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us He seems to have an interesting history. At the end of the 2018/19 school year he was apparently headed to Leganes in Spain. He may have made it there but I haven't looked into it closely. http://iecn.com/colton-high-soccer-star-jorge-ruvalcaba-to-play-for-leganes-fc/ https://pepperbough.com/featured-athlete/2019/05/08/athlete-of-the-week-jorge-ruvalcaba/ And he was supposed to be a freshman at NCAA D2 Cal-Bernardino in fall 2020. He was even on the roster, as "Ruvalcava." The team didn't play games in 2020/21 from what I can see. https://www.csusbathletics.com/news/2020/3/17/mens-soccer-jorge-ruvalcaba-signs-nli-with-yotes.aspx
Don’t know if there is a small thread buried somewhere on this guy but he subbed in for fellow “Murican” Saucedo last night in the ‘68 and promptly scored a minute later. He’s 20!!! Any more info, BigSoccer Land?!!!

@dark knight @bungadiri @TheFalseNine Looks like we have duplicate threads with a slight spelling variation. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/jorge-ruvalcaba-at-pumas-unam.2119182/ The correct spelling of his last name is "Ruvalcaba." Thanks.
Yes, there was. DMN has had a thread about him since December. We need a thread merge with DMN's just moved to YA: @TheFalseNine Nine @bungadiri @dark knight
One wonders what kind of connections he or his family had with Pumas. To go from high school soccer to full pro in that time is pretty special. Hopefully the kid feels his American roots!
Profile (login required): https://www.socceramerica.com/publi...nd-in-the-rough-jorge-ruvalca.html?verified=1 Ruvalcaba, who hails for Rialto, near San Bernardino, joined UNAM in July 2021 but played only 565 minutes last fall for its Fuerzas Básicas team in the U-20 national league for Liga MX teams. But Argentine Andres Lilini, who took over as UNAM coach in 2020, liked what he saw when Ruvalcaba played at the Copa Internacional del Caribe last fall in Colombia. It helped that Lilini has a record for promoting young players -- 10 have made their Liga MX debuts since he took charge of UNAM -- and the departure of three players after the fall season created some openings on the first team, which is preparing for the 2022 Concacaf Champions League and looking to expand its roster.
Always fun to map California cities when a player pops up. Rialto is about 50 miles' drive straight east from LA in the San Bernardino area.

I own a house in Rialto. My father was born in Geneva, but raised in San Bernardino from the age of 5. My parents moved back to Switzerland before I was born, but before they did, they bought a house in Rialto. When I used to visit the States as a kid, we would stay in that house and swim in the 100 degree heat, and it felt like a different world. With both my parents gone, visiting that house always brings those memories to the forefront. Sorry for the off-topic, personal post, but I couldn’t help myself.
On the roster for Concacaf CL: https://stconcacafwp001.blob.core.windows.net/media/rredlpru/22_sccl-rosters-r16_feb7.pdf
Subs on against the Revs with the tie level 3-3 on aggregate. He replaces Saucedo who seems a bit injured.
