Karsdorp earns himself a red card, and should have been subbed much earlier. Roma doesn't have a right back on the bench, and shortly thereafter they implode.

Inept management and emblematic of the year Reynolds has been at Roma. He needs to leave.

Title jinxed him. At this point he could be crucified singing 'Always look on the best side of death...' for all Mourinho cares.

They doomed themselves when they hired Mourinho.

Does the Special One mean he wears a yellow helmet?

They're currently 7th after hiring Mourinho in the summer after a season in which they finished...7th.

    Doomed.

Well they're certainly on the hook for a bunch more money for Mou than they could've spent on a lesser known, equally capable manager. Add the fact that Mou has stalled, alienated, and disenfranchised a number of players...is it worth it? Jose Mourinho is the Dogecoin of managers. If you're getting him now, you're far too late.

Soccer theory moves forward at a neck breaking pace, because so many countries are obsessed with it. Keeping up with the theory in soccer is like keeping up with biotech or computer science. It's just not doable, you only have a window.

Is Reynolds on the bench today vs. Milan?

He's definitely not on the bench today against Milan...although that's largely due to the fact that the teams played on Thursday. :D

(and he wasn't on the bench then either)

Cue the “what did you want me to do, bring in Reynolds??” excuse from José.

I don't guess it even really matters, but Maitland-Niles' service from the right flank was not good for the most part.

You must not have watched on BT Sports? The English announcer made Maitland-Niles sound like prime Cafu.

I don't put any stock into game ratings whatsoever, and I know that you were kidding, but I checked his footmob score because your comment made me curious. They gave him a 5.8.

Nah, I'm being serious. The PBP guy Dave Farrar was waxing lyrical all match about Maitland-Niles. Don Hutchinson, the pundit, said 9 out of 10 performance today. British homerism at its finest.

I'm trying to figure out how a fullback who doesn't make the scoresheet, barely registers a mention in the match tracker, and is on a defense who concede four goals including two that were generated up his flank, merits a 9.

Maitland-Niles had some very bright defensive moments and while his service wasn't great, he at least served it up which is better than nothing. Hopefully Reynolds lands somewhere else soon.

I was reminded of this post as I listened to 'The Football Show' with Charlie Stillitano and Neil Barnett this morning. They stated that this morning's Italian Newspapers rated Maitland-Niles the worst player on the pitch.

I just wanted to share some "Special One TV" in case anyone had forgotten about it, or is younger and hasn't seen it. That is all.

there is no way you can characterize that amn performance as good without grading on a significant curve.
