That was as CONCACAF as it gets. That kid is genius. It's the kind of sh!t you hate when you're down, but love when you are up.

Is someone injured/suspended, or did Valencia just suddenly decide to give Musah his first league start in over 3 months against Real Madrid?
If he’s playing there I have a hard time seeing how he’s going to be particularly effective. Playing a defensive RM position against Real Madrid isn’t a recipe for success for him as far as I see it. Fingers crossed though.
Yeah, I’m not sure what he is playing. Kind of high up and making runs from central both to left and right. Interesting.
Would like to see him have the ball at his feet a bit more, but Real were kind of taking control over the last part of the half (dodgy penalty though). Hopefully some chances in the 2nd half to contribute more to the attack.
On the other hand, he just gave the ball away trying to dribble past someone at midfield, led directly to a Real Madrid third goal and a demonstrative telling off from the Valencia goalkeeper. Might lead to him getting the hook here. EDIT - And he's off in the 66th minute.
That's the kind of play you see him make constantly with the USMNT, and you marvel at how good his close-control is that he can take risks like that and not get punished. I guess it's a different story when you're playing against Real Madrid though.
Yeah, I think that is why he is playing for the most part up high. Usually youthful mistakes further up the pitch aren’t ruthlessly punished but he does find himself all overvthe pitch.
No question. We've had some weekends on here where almost nobody of note was getting serious playing time for their Euro clubs. Yunus starting against one of the top teams is a very good thing for him, even if he didn't stand out per se. Hopefully he keeps earning opportunities.
Well, Musah was the added player to the 4-3-1-1. He was kind of all over the place. Didn’t see the ball much which wasn’t too surprising given RM’s dominance.
Ah, I read his first comment as Musah being the first "1" not being unincluded. Upon reflection, I think it might have been a good plan - let the guy try to create some problems with the RM buildup wherever he sees a chance, and automatically push into the attack every opportunity. It just didn't work that well, but I don't know what would have.
