After what Mexico did at Olympics. Piojo Alvarado to Chivas. Cordova to Tigres. Antuna to Cruz Azul. Angulo to Tigres. Charly rumored to go to Cruz Azul. Romo rumored to be going to Monterrey. Vega either stay at Chivas or Monterrey. It’s sad to see what our own league does to our own players.
I know it’s not a transfer rumor but I just posted here as an example of what @superm said
Unless you got Vega or actual video of Chivas reps saying it, I call bullsht. Mofos do/say anything for clicks.
Lol. Didn’t Chivas send Alanis 4 years ago to the U20 team and were forcing him to resign if not they were going to let him stay there so he could miss the World Cup? Didn’t they do the same shit with Omar Bravo and Fabian when both wanted to leave? Cmon let’s not try to act like it doesn’t happen. Every time a Mexican player wants to leave for free, there’s always a big fuss about it. Let’s not act like it’s not the norm.
It’s so obvious that Mexican players need a union. It would solve a million problems for the development of the players
Cmon if you’re going to post you got to pay attention or at least know what has happened. Fabian got same treatment for wanting to leave at young age. Eventually got loaned out to Cruz Azul and after having a couple average seasons finally got let go. Bravo I think got the U20 treatment too.
And then there’s the 2014 pulido with tigres situation, 2 different contracts, being blackmailed to sign new contract, not being able to attend the World Cup as free agent and all that BS Pero hazlos entender
Tecatito too. And not too recently with Santiago Munoz where he got sent to the U20 division because apparently he was too distracted and not focused. Luckily he was able to leave even if it was on loan. And then you got Gomez the kid from Atlas. I know he’s back with Atlas but I wouldn’t be surprised if he got sent to the U20 directly when he came back just as a message for him trying to leave on free.
Players don't get blackballed as much in other countries because there are consequences such as relegation. With no relegation in Liga MX gives the owners more leverage against the players. I think the players definitely need a union but it won't happen anytime soon because the owners would just block the formation of a union. The only way I think it could happen is if they join forces with the MLS union now that they will have that summer tournament together.
Unless x player is literally the difference-maker between going down and staying up, I don’t see how relegation makes that much of a difference when Liga MX clubs are known to (1) blackball you from the NT and (2) freeze you in the reserves. Santi Muñoz and Orbelin taking it on the chin to force their way out is a good sign. Only other player that I can remember publicly disagreeing with the club previously was Edson Rivera feuding with Atlas to go to Braga. Vega may very well be willing to give up a WC to go abroad, which is a damn shame. But then again, I’m not sure he’s a shoe-in at this point.
At this point I really hope we fail to qualify for Qatar. Hope we lose against nads in azteca. We need a total collapse before we can rebuild and actually improve. This system is decadent and corrupt. Damn, same thing could be said about all political systems. lol.
That’s not the topic being discussed here. Let’s not try to move the goal posts. Cmon if you want to post and discuss a topic have something to backup your opinion. The topic of discussion is that players are not allowed to leave on a free transfer and clubs send them to the U20 or bench them and try to pretty much ruin their careers to force them to resign before allowing them to leave. It’s the norm. Let’s not act like it doesn’t happen. Mexican soccer is corrupt.
I'm with you, but to put no blame on the players is ignorant. Most if not all love the money they make in Mexico that they won't make overseas initially. That hurts our league, our league has money and doesn't need to sell and players don't want to make less overseas. What you say is true but not the only truth
So just because they were eventually sold (at an age that most players don’t develop much further as a player by the way) it’s ok to threaten the player and try to ruin their careers because they want to leave?
This isn't unique to Mexico tho. Euro clubs do this as well. The stuff about fake contracts tho. I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen in Europe...
This. How many players have turned down the opportunity to go to Europe because language, weather, lack of tacos? Or just more money... Well money.
What euro teams do this? What players have been sent to the youth teams or benched strictly due to contract situations?
Wow and in that 13/14 season he almost led Liverpool to a championship and he also managed to score the league high 31 goals before transferring out to Barcelona.
