Staying another season? Is anyone here that daft?

I want Aaronson to step up (say, to RBL) right away, so we can move on to talking about his next step.

As we complain about who is screwing him over and holding him back in his current situation.

I think we should start talking about who will screw him over and hold him back at his next stop right now.

Just to give some context for how long players typically stay at Salzburg before moving on up, here's a list of Salzburg regulars who transferred to one of the top 5 leagues since 2014, and how many years they stayed at Salzburg before transferring:

    1 year
Erling Haaland to Dortmund - $22m

    1.5 years

*Amadou Haidara to Leipzig - $20.9m
*Dayot Upamacano to Leipzig - $20.35m (prior to becoming a regular starter)

    2 years
Naby Keita to Leipzig - $32.73m
Sadio Mane to Southampton - $25.3m
*Dominik Szoboszlai to Leipzig - $24.2m
Peter Gulacsi to Leipzig - $3.3m (1 year prior to Leipzig's promotion)
*Hannes Wolf to Leipzig - $13.2m (prior to becoming a regular starter)
*Konrad Laimer to Leipzig - $7.7m
*Benno Schmitz to Leipzig - $880k
*Andre Ramalho to Bayer - $660k

    2.5 years
Munas Dabbur to Sevilla - $18.7m
*Xaver Schlagger to Wolfsburg - $16.5m
Kevin Kampl to Dortmund - $13.2m

    3 years
*Diadié Samassékou to Hoffenheim - $15.4m

    3.5 years
*Patson Daka to Leicester - $33m
*Enock Mweup to Brighton - $25.3m
    Duje Caleta-Car to Marseille - $20.9m
    *Hee-chan Hwang to Leipzig - $9.9m

    4 years
Stefan Lainer to Monchengladbach - $13.75m

    5 years
Martin Hinteregger to Augsburg - $11.55m
*Valentino Lazaro to Hertha - $11.55m
Takumi Minamino to Liverpool - $9.35m
Dusan Svento to Koln - $660k

    6 years
Valon Berisha to Lazio - $8.36m

*These players also spent time on loan with Salzburg's 2nd division farm team. I tried not to include those seasons in the total, but the timeframes were sometimes hard to determine if the players moved back and forth between the two levels initially.

Also, RBL just lost to a 10 man Bielefield today.

Sure, they "could" turn it around and go back to being RBL of last year.

But at the same time, I would hesitant to automatically assume that is the best place for him. Marsch is gone, they are dropping down the table and may be in win now mode and may not be as interested in bring along young players slowly for the foreseeable future.

It may not matter by the start of next season, if Aaronson moves to RBL then, but as for as moving in Janurary, I may want him to get the CL experience against Bayern and continue to be a key piece in a dominating side rather than go to a floundering RBL who may have shifted priorities for the spring half of the season atleast.

True and nobody said he should stay at Salzburg except for a few stragglers here. Hwvr, going to a team which really needs his skills will.

Aaronson doesnt need more p.t on the training grounds at Leipzig; he needs constant reps starting/subbing, as the case may be, to continue improving.

If you transfer key players while in the Champions' League KO stages, you might as well come out & admit you aren't a football club, rather an investment firm.

Brenden should leave soon, but not during this season. They and you can be a little patient to try and achieve something they may not again.

I know they drew Bayern, but waiving the white flag ahead of time goes against the spirit of sport, & anything can happen in a playoff.

He should spend the 2nd half of RB Salz season working on his weaknesses like shooting.....then go in summer

RBS is the closest team to an investment firm I can think of but yeah I’m betting Aaronson is happy to stay and get a chance to impress against Bayern.

Of Leipzig is “interested” and BA is under contract to Salzburg, wouldn’t Leipzig have the inside track?

I sort of see your point...but you're talking about the CL, not the Austrian League. To me, that complicates the question so, so much. I mean, is there any does RBS is trying to win their league? No, there is not.

For a club like theirs, is selling a player and as a result reducing the chance that they get past Bayern from .2% to .1% doesn't seem relevant.

Depends on if the team bidding is willing to pay $X more to have now vs in July. Simple convo in some ways.

I’m not a huge Leeds fan TBH, but talk about fitting a teams style of play.

Could it get any more perfect?

Looking even better for the Philadelphia Union.

    $6 million on the transfer
$3 million added since I believe Aaronson hit certain achievements
PLUS a sell on of 10-20% which should add a few more million.

Philly should net over $10 million for Aaronson.

If Aaronson cost RBS $9 million in the end and they have to pay 10 or 20% of the next transfer fee to Philly... idk if $20 million is enough to get it done... after wages, agent fees... everything considered... I'm not sure it's that big of a number net for RBS.
