By comparison, if Tessmann was at Roma, he would have played 2 minutes (intentionally 1 more minute than Reynolds, just so Mourinho can shit on Bryan more) and at some point already Tessman would be blamed for being a bad bench presence by Mourinho, costing Roma a critical 3 points and banished him to their 6th division regional league team
Tessmann with his heavy frame caused the bench tilting which took out all bench players with sharp splinters in the butt. That depleted the team’s depth.

I'd need to see a good replay but it looks like he curled his foot away from the opponents leg which I have felt should be a VAR review (because it shows he is under control). I'm guessing that the league has decided they just don't want that particular maneuver in the game period full stop, even if it was not dangerous in this case. The ref looked very pleased with himself.
As for Tessman's play in the 25 minutes he was on,... I'm really enjoying watching his play. He has very good instincts and makes good 'n' quick decisions on the ball. He plays a bit like Sands but his skills translate better in the middle third as an 8 while Sands tends to shine further back. Tessman's passing is quite accurate and constructive.
Yeah - it kinda seemed like the ref based the card on the writhing on the ground even though contact seemed minimal and one view looked like he might have got the ball. That said, not a smart play to dive in like that.
Tremendous improvement from early in the year. He was flailing and slow-minded with soft touch passing then. Much more confident/direct with firm passing now. Penalty was def soft. Kindof a mechanical player like Scally (German-type) which is fine, with his big challenge being when his feet and mind are a bit slow...not getting blindsided. The challenge of all young players. His size makes me wonder if he could wind up on the backline (central defender) at some point in career. He reminds me *some* (but not totally) of Geoff Cameron. I'll remind you all that Cameron didn't even become a starter for Dynamo until he turned 23- his first year with the club. He didn't go to Stoke until he was 27. So Tanner is way ahead of that timetable. Main thing is....he is demonstrating that he can learn & adjust....if he can keep this up, he will become very successful. I could see him in England or Germany with his physicality. Tony Pulis' Stoke would have loved him and his 6 foot 3 inch height.
Ueah, he kind of looks like a center back, athletically. Scally doesn’t look “mechanical” to me, unless that means fundamentally sound.
I don't have a problem with the card. He was lunging and could have seriously hurt the other player. Those kinds of tackles need to be done away with.
Bradley-esque....straight-lined. Compare to Busio, and you'll get the essence of my point. Not necessarily a bad thing...Germany has won World Cups with whole teams of these types.....Guenter Netzer and Felix Magath were considered the 'odd' balls...German players that played like they were Yugoslav or (called Brazilians in Germany)
I wonder about how BS goes thru love affairs with different stats. Lately it has been height. I'm not sure Tessman is fast enough for cb. I like his size in midfield, combined with his good feet and quick mind (which is why the comparison to Cameron is not apt). Playing in a compact midfield means more spatial awareness and quick thinking/play rather than foot speed. Tessman is good at keeping the ball in front of him and dishing quickly and well (kinda what he was trying to do instinctually when he got the red card). I like the way they are using him and think he will develop quickly on his current trajectory/club situation.
If only all players could be as "mechanical" as Scally - whatever 'mechanical' means. 1 or 2 weeks ago Scally chased down a player from behind, ran around in front of him and took the ball off his feet while the guy was still running full speed and Scally completed his U turn on the other side and passed the ball off while the dispossessed guy just stood there with his jaw slack wondering what just happened. The rote thing to do would have been to take a card of something. Fortunately, Scally was confident in his 'mechanics' and went one better.
I dunno.... I think 9.5 out of 10 times that is called a yellow. He didn't even really hit the player. I thought it was kind of soft... but his studs were up so you always run the risk. It is too bad because I thought he had his best appearance of the year up until that incident.
Busio = opposite of Tannerman Busio = looks like player not from US Tannerman = looks like player from US Mechanical = orthodox Things have changed somewhat with global coaching, youtube tapes, etc.- but used to be the countries of the "South" were the creative, unorthodox players/teams, great 1v1 and the "North" were the orthodox, straight-line, hoof it up types, link-to-link-to-link. Of course, there were exceptions (Cryuff Holland) The best example of contrast is watching US play virtually any CONCACAF team south of our borders The danger of the orthodox player is missing that 1/10 opportunity to be creative and unorthodox. Also, the orthodox player can often create too big an opportunity to be 'read' by a defender too easily after doing the 'orthodox' thing time and time again. Like reading a baseball pitcher who can't disguise pitches. Tannerman has (would have) above average ball skills as a center back.....that's why I prospectively like the idea (or think it has merit). He has played some really nice long balls in these videos. As a midfielder, he may or may not rise to that level (above average).....I don't think he is there yet. But he is very young still. Cameron was really good and skillful until 31/32, and then he losing it
