Aaronson is really good. Similar level to our other CL level attackers (Pulisic, Reyna, Weah). He would get time on RBL.
I think so too but if it comes down to a Jan move vs a summer move, I'd take the winter one. Just so he has more wiggle room for a breakthrough
What are the chances that Paxton eclipses Brenden? For me this kid has come out of nowhere; I was so jaded by the Benny Feilhabers and Juan Agudelos of the world, namely guys who seemed like good attackers domestically and inevitably failed in Europe. I had a strong suspicion Brenden would follow suit. Shows what I know. How many more Brenden Aaronsons are sitting in our pool?
I wonder if RBL generally has the right of first refusal for most of the players in the RB family of clubs?
As a long time supporter don’t worry, this is a different age. No need to have “old day angst” anymore. The floor has risen considerably, and is still rising. We will produce plenty of prospects like Juan and Benny, and most like everywhere will flatten out or not make it, but we will produce enough to have regular successes. This is with MLS academies shooting at maybe 20-25%. Wait until the get to 50%. We gonna be OK. It’s just starting and it’s built on sunstance, coaching, and investment. Not blind hope. Enjoy.
Fully agreed and while the global floor has also risen, ours has risen more. But I'm curious what you mean by "hitting"? Producing a pro player? Producing a high level pro player? I'd think even 20% would be very generous for the former. In an academy of 100 kids, even at places like Ajax and Barca, how many of them will actually make the first team (3-5?) and how many will find other teams (10-15?). Even with a rising floor, we all know the overwhelmingly vast majority of youth players will never make it.
Yeah, I’m being vague and I am coffee deprived. In general, with our system, and the number of prospects we are producing, the hit rate for productive players in top 5 leagues will be a an expected/regular occurrence moving forward. Top flight CL impact players and regulars is still “new”, so to speak. Can we take that next step, and how long will that take? Large numbers of possible high level impact players. My ‘angst” was simply built around producing competent top 5 level players. We can do that now. We will always have a decent amount. I’m pretty happy with that. The next step is creating difference makers at the highest levels consistently. I know this is still pretty vague, but it’s simply based on how I feel, based on where we have come from. Everyone is going to have a different interpretation. In short (to late) I know we can produce top 5 level talents with our current system, and I fully expect our Nats to be filled by them come 2026. I’m happy with that.
Yeah... considering that Bayern are nigh unbeatable. Heck... when was the last time RBL itself beat Bayern? I literally can't recall it ever happening. Edit: 1 win in 13 matches played across all comps (1-5-7): https://www.worldfootball.net/teams/rb-leipzig/bayern-muenchen/11/
There's a rumor floating around Twitter that Leeds United is going to make a bid for Aaronson in January. haven't found a reliable source to confirm yet however
Surprised it took this long for Aaronson and Leeds to be mentioned in the same rumour. He seems like he as made in the lab to be the perfect Leeds type of player.
Right now we are mad for USNMT coach doesn’t call up a teenager who starting for M’glabach. One day we would scream for a teenager who starting for Real Madrid who cannot get a call up.
https://www.skysportaustria.at/das-...m-der-herbstsaison-in-der-admiral-bundesliga/ Aaronson on the “Sky Sport Player Index” team for the fall season.
Sure...so he will join that group and compete for spot like he would on any top 6 team in a top league. Staying another season with Salzburg won't change that.
