Natasha Kai. EDIT: As Roger points out, the profile info on the Twitter account doesn't match Natasha. I'm confused right now. I appear to have missed something. EDIT 2: Kaiya McCullough
I suspected that: but hasn't she retired longtime ago? So basically she's saying that this has basically always happened in past years? When exactly did she retire? I can't remember.
As others have already self-corrected, it's the original Spirit player to have come forward with allegations against Burke. She's been pretty active ever since both her story and the Riley story went public.
Ok, I am relieved that, despite the fact that I should have known better for the reason you mention (she's a well-known figure that was victim of one of the latest scandals), I was not the only to have been actually confused about who she was. Twitter can do that, if the handle isn't very obvious.
Uh... what are you smoking? it's Kaiya McCullough. She played for UCLA and was one of the main sources back when all this stuff was starting to come out.
We just looked through through Gov. Murphy’s latest tax returns. Here’s what we found. - nj.com "...THEIR SOCCER TEAM LOST MONEY AGAIN The Murphys are soccer fanatics and have long co-owned a professional soccer team in New Jersey, known as Sky Blue FC until earlier this year, when its name was changed to NJ/NY Gotham FC. But the couple continues to lose money on the club. They lost $1.73 million on the franchise in 2020 — more than the $1.1 million they lost in 2019. They have lost more than $9.5 million on the team since buying it. (bode added) Murphy has said the goal of the club is not to make money but to provide a place for young girls to realize dreams of playing pro ball...."
A new statement from the Red Stars: https://www.chicagoredstars.com/post/chicago-red-stars-ownership-statement
My experience parallels this. I had trouble, I still have trouble processing this awful news and expressing myself. I provide a reply to my son's post in the Fire forum. Surprise?! SURPRISE!!! I was gutted. I'm still frickin' stunned. After everything that was revealed this summer I believed the Red Stars were above it. There were hints here and there with Press & Huerta, but it never blew up like the other teams. I don't know if I can look Arnim Whisler in the eye again.
https://twitter.com/thekccurrent/status/1465697323401416719?s=21 Kansas Current just got their hands on Sam Mewis in a trade with Courage!
(Cross-posting this to the draft thread) Interesting move... Especially with the expansion draft still coming. NC had two allocated players, (Mewis and Williams,) so it was a guarantee that one of them was going to be exposed in the draft unless one was offloaded. KC is exempt from the expansion draft, but considering the move that NC pulled with Dahlkemper, I don't know if this is the last we hear of this trade. (NC also gets KC's natural first round pick two days later in the college draft, i.e. pick #3 overall.)
KC wanted a star. They are pretty aggressive in this league with new training facility. Play at Sporting Kansas for one or two seasons as well as building a new stadium meant for the team!
There is no "Sporting Kansas" Kansas is 1) A state 2) A university within the state and its athletic teams 3) A river in the state that locals often refer to as the Kaw "City" is not a nickname like you find in English soccer clubs. It is an integral part of the name of the city of "Kansas City" - all three of them. They are not Kansas, Kansas - Kansas, Missouri - North Kansas, Missouri. It is not the Kansas Royals, Kansas Chiefs, Kansas Comets, nor Sporting Kansas. None of those are things.
I’m from California so it’s all the same to me, Missouri… Kansas… Arkansas it’s all the same land and same Republicans.
Well if you're gonna bring politics into it.... Even if you want to discount entire states because of their overall red lean, don't f***ing shit on the big cities therein, because they're usually blue. And fans of WoSo, where you often see players change their last name and even (at least in NWSL) see openly trans players, should know the basic human respect of using proper names. Like, geez, names are not difficult.
Well, this is something: SOURCES: Have been informed that Chicago Red Stars defender Sarah Gorden could be heading to Angel City FC in a move to be announced at a later time. The 2021 defender of the year candidate has been with her hometown club since being drafted in 2016. #NWSL— Sandra 💙💯⚽️ (@Sandherrera_) November 30, 2021
Yep, which is a positive since that's how US sports usually work in an expansion scenario. NFL and NHL teams are notorious for this, especially when it helps the existing team move a large salary while keeping one of their younger/cheaper options.
Could they? Would LA agree to that? Do we know they didn't try? I can tell you that they didn't want to lose Mewis. They signed her to a 2 year non-Federation contract. But they couldn't get around the Expansion Draft without risking her or Williams.
Think 3 or 4. Haven't caught up on all the teams and who has what. But didn't see much from Houston, OL Reign or Portland. Same for Gotham I believe.
