Mr. Borden and CANPRO: I'm happy for you, and for all Canada fans. Great stuff. Congratulations. If you host us in Toronto, I'm going to look your asses up. For now, enjoy the nice afterglow.
I mean I think it's both. A team like Mexico has more talent on paper compared to Canada, but it's not as if Canada doesn't have talented players. Davies is the best player in CONCACAF and David is probably the second best striker in CONCACAF (I think I'd put Antonio first). And you've got guys like Buchanan, Larin, and Eustáquio. But the mentality is also very good, and the team knows exactly who they want to be and seems like they go out and execute their plan every time I watch them.
If Canada were to win all three games next window, they'd almost certainly have locked up their place in Qatar (as would the US if they do so). But this is nothing against Canada, but I don't think it's realistic to expect them to win both road games in the window.
For Mexico, Can and the US the goal is the same. Hold serve at home and force Pan to do something special.
I think we can and we have beaten El Salvador already all be it at home but even so and with Honduras it could go either way but they have been disappointing thus far
Honduras is the most likely road win of the two as so far three teams have done so. But only one road team has won in El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Jamaica. And no road team has won in Mexico, Canada, Panama, or the US. It's no knock on Canada but winning on the road is very difficult, and I don't believe any team has won two road games in a window as of yet.
Has the CMNT finally gone mainstream? I saw everybody in my gym watching the highlights when they came on Sports Centre at 6am this morning. It seems like a new day. Perfect way of making the team matter in this country and gets more and more kids interested in playing soccer in this country of ours in Canada
25 points would be close to a lock, but probably not technically unless Panama falls apart (a possibility). 23 probably means picking up a couple in the last window but yes, a 7 point window and unless none of the other teams slip up, you will need a disaster at the end, particularly since your last game may include an eliminated opponent with nothing to play for <cries in T&T>.
Canada is looking good. They are filled with talent this cycle: Larin, Davies, David. However, perhaps their greatest asset is Milan Borjan, Red Star Belgrade first choice. Larin has 11 goals in 10 matches, which is pure class. I am looking forward to the Canada x USA match.
https://northerntribune.ca/valour-f...ctIUFBXVUFVfho9Kx9P-bjlWbzTAom-RyYc1IcKbmYSrw People need to reach out to the front office of their teams and give some fan feedback to support the players. It's been a fine line between being happy to see games in person again and navigate the issues the teams are creating to do so.
The league must raise salaries or it will go under, in my opinion. They’re being cheapskates. However, how do they raise salaries when the business of the league has been rocked due to COVID? That requires owners to go deeper into their pockets, which I’m positive FC Edmonton and York United’s owners, at a minimum, will not want to do. I know Valour’s owners are pretty cheap, too. I’m glad it’s not my money. The CPL needs some deep pocketed early level MLS investor types.
Now all you people are starting to become believers in Canada considering everyone in CONCACAF would think little of us and now we live to prove all of you guys wrong
They are certainly doing well. However, there's still a lot of work to do to qualify. One little thing they need to be careful about is that they have 6 games left. However, only 2 are home games and one of those is against the US, not exactly a give me three pointer. Also, they still need to play 4 games in Central America, never an easy place for Canada or for anyone for that matter. I do hope they make it as it'll be good experience for 2026 (assuming they get an automatic spot, is this confirmed yet?). Also Canada will be very well supported in Qatar as there are a lot of Canadians here or people with Canada connections.
Two goals in the first 9 minutes for @itsJoDavid. Not bad, eh? #CANMNT https://t.co/oNqaDVgGzG— Rudi Schuller (@RudiSchuller) November 19, 2021

Speaking of CF Montreal - threatening to move thew club to the US is a poor way to attract fans and keep CPL at bay! Joey Saputo and Montreal Impact supporters have been going at itNow, Saputo has threatened to move the team to the United States.Textbook example of how to bury your support, starting with your most loyal and passionate fans. https://t.co/cofoQV70km— MLS Buzz (@MLS_Buzz) November 18, 2021
He'll be going somewhere soon. I think he took the perfect step up the ladder by going to Lille. Now with success there in the bag, the bigger boys will come calling again. By the way, the US' match prior to the WCQer against Canada is going to be in Columbus. Hedging their bets that Canada will host their US match in Toronto or Montreal? Wherever it is in Canada, the US' travel to the match will be much simpler than Canada's trek from Honduras. The USMNT will return to Columbus https://t.co/yJvg753f7J— USMNT Universe (@UsmntU) November 24, 2021
I hope there is a smart ticket allocation system to Canadian fans. Don’t want to get swamped with American fans for the match in Hamilton. Although that seems likely. Our players commented our match against El Salvador in Toronto in September felt like an away game.
Montreal in CPL. Your fantasy! Though I think Saputo would be better off selling up and investing his $300M profit in Bologna.
