I hold the same exact position I had when we discussed this not long ago....

If a European club arrives with clear plans for him, it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to get playing time in the old continent so long as he talks with the interested parties to determine their plans for him. Still, it’s hard to guarantee or promise anything to an incoming youngster, so he might end up killing his own chances of making the WC squad if he goes somewhere where he eats bench or fails to adapt to the tactics.

On the other hand, if he stays in River he knows he’ll be a regular starter, is comfortable with his teammates, and has a coach that has full faith in him (assuming Gallardo stays). Unless he encounters physical or psychological problems, it’s a set path for him to continue this form until Qatar. So it could really be in his best interest to avoid a move til after the WC.

It all depends on who comes looking for him and what role he’d play really

Perhaps our best bet will be him going to Ajax. However, I just looked at Ajax’s record signing and it took place this year with Haller for nearly 25M$. Are they willing to drop another 20 million? I don’t know. But Ajax would probably be ideal for him. Fiorentina maybe a second. Everyplace else, he’s not gonna start for a while.

Thats the problem against Uruguay, Tucu got 3 chances, failed badly in all of them.

One of those chances, he won the ball on the right side of the box he got nobody to pass it to since nobody's lurking at the center which is basically is own position in that game. Alvarez definetely should be use as Lautaro direct replacement.

In some of our recent games we're lucky the likes of Papu, RDP, Di Maria would occasionally scores but I still think we dont pose enough threat outside Messi & Lautaro.

1000% agree with the sentiments that Julian should play as a 9 ahead of Tucu. Tucu is more of a second striker and most of his best performances came when he is played with a 9. I really hope Julian plays the rest of the WCQ as a 9 to gain experience as a backup 9 is probably our most concerning position right now imo.

If Vlahovic leaves, Fiorentina would be my #1 preference for Julian. Maybe Sevilla as a #2.

I don’t think Alvarez is a striker in a Lautaro o Batistuta way, he is more a Saviola style, play and make play. No matter where he plays in 2022 he’ll make the roster. IMHO he should leave right now before he injures himself and spoil his lifetime chance, like Palermo did in 2000.

Yes, he is old enough to move. Any talent that stays in the local league past that age will be forgotten it's just the reality. Go to a mid table club in serie A or la Liga and get a lot of playtime.

I remember the first goal that most of us became obsessed with Aguero, it was his goal for Independiente against Racing when he was only 16 years old.

What a ********ing golazo. And of course, "Agueeeeerroooooooooooooo!" I am not ManCity fan, but watching the QPR game is one of my most enjoyable moments of watching a soccer game with my dad. I am really going to miss Kun, glad that he was able to get a Copa before he retired. Damn. You know he wanted to play one last game for Independiente before this - going on you shield

Remember Luciano Vietto? Well, he just won the AFC Champions League with Al Hilal.

However, he didn’t play in the final (or even make the bench), and a quick look at his game stats show he didn’t participate in any of the knockout stage. He did score 2 goals in the group stage, though.

His overall goalscoring record is also pretty poor, scoring only 8 goals in 45 games for the Saudi side.

To think Atletico Madrid paid $22M for him at one point. Talk about a bust..

Atletico paid $35mm for Jackson Martinez; he scored 2 goals in half season. Luckily, and somehow, Atletico turned around and sold him to Guanzhou for a profit (not sure how they pulled that one off).

Luciano had a couple of moments that got people's hopes up, but complete flop. . . Gaich, we are looking at you

Lol Gaich… The highlight of his European career is scoring v Juve. I then remember his manager saying that there are “offers for him but they’re clam.”

Yet when they negotiate with an Argentine club it’s “best we can offer is two cokes and a sandwich, take it or leave it” :D

Yep, as long he doesnt get carried away with his personal emotion and being less annoying. He could be like Ramos, Materazzi, Pepe, Alves & Gatusso sometimes. Although it seems that most great teams has this type of player.

Let me tell you, Julian will cost 80 million pound, if he's a Brazucas. Plus he'd be rated as next Messi after doing some cool flick near touchlines .

With one year to go IMO there are 17 players that are 100% going to Qatar barring injuries:

    Martinez
    Armani
    Musso

    Molina
    Montiel
    Romero
    Otamendi
    Acuña
    Tagliafico

    Paredes
    De Paul
    Lo Celso
    Palacios

    Gonzalez
    Messi
    Di Maria
    L. Martinez

The following 2 are a special case, I think they will go for sure if they can keep their current form but I don't consider them locks:

    Lisandro Martinez
    Julian Alvarez

For the other 4 places I think it'll come down to these guys:

    - 1 out of: Pezzella, Foyth and M. Quarta
-2 out of: Rodriguez, Dominguez, Papu ( I also think Nacho and Enzo Fernandez are possible dark horses for these places).
-1 out of: J. Correa, A. Correa, Ocampos and Dybala

We need to solidify a solid back CB. We know that either Cuti or Otamendi will get suspended. Pezzella is not going to cut it. Maybe Licha should get a look or even LMQ.

You’re assuming that it will be 23 instead of 28. I sense it will be 28. Unless news broke that I don’t know about.

Granted it is Juve youth team v Chelsea’s in the Youth CL but what a goal from Soulé. He might turn out to be something special.

I think Dybala will make it since he's the only one that could be a direct replacement for Messi and recently he made it count with that one half performance againts Uruguay. Also, he has enough experience againts top players in Europe which would put him ahead. Another thing is, Messi seems to be fragile these days.

Scaloni doesnt seems to rate A.Correa even when he's playing well, even if he scored in crucial last game that sealed La liga title. So imo he's the one that will not make it, probably Alvarez will take his spot. Scaloni seems to like Tucu the way Sabella rates Palacio highly.

Licha brief performance againts Brazil isnt conclusive, its unfair to compare him to our regulars who's been playing so many matches this year.

Pezella never looks convincing at all, unlike Otamendi or Angelito... he never proof his doubters wrong. I remember he's a big liability in Copa 2019 and remained that way since.

I also think it would be 28 players instead of 23 this time.

-Both Guido and Papu are a lock imo

-Feel that J. Correa is the favorite out of those 4

-Pezzella has never convinced me during the Scaloneta era. Whether it's Quarta, Medina, Senesi and etc., I would like to try one of those players during the rest of the WC qualifiers. We do need a better back CB than Pezzella.

Papu and Guido are not a lock in my view. Papu wasn't even called for this last window, only Gonzalez covid got him into the list. Scaloni clearly has doubts about him, and let's not forget that he's already 35 years old and that his stint at Sevilla so far has been far from stellar.

Guido was a lock but isn't anymore, his performance vs Uruguay was so bad that Scaloni opted to play a CB like Martinez in his position when Paredes had to be subbed off the following game. Of course, he has a chance to redeem himself in the remaining qualifiers but right now he is back to the pack of people fighting for their place.

Papu was initially not called up due to injury but recovered in time to be in the squad vs Uruguay. He got injured again after the match which is why we didn't see him in the squad vs Brazil.

Lisandro is versatile to play at both CDM and CB. Don't think one bad game from Guido will put him out of Scaloni's mind and he'll probably be included in the squad if the WC happened today. This is me as someone who wants Lisandro to be, at the very least, the backup CDM and CB.

Messi as usual ignored by this PSG teammates most of whom have iq so low It is like they are trying to make the wrong decision every play. The truth is his best chance to perform is for both Mbappe and Neymar to be injured.

Messi still had an assist and it should have been 2 assists if Neymar can put some decent efford on his finishing.

Psg defence is as bad as Barca. City was able to out a simple cross over and over that shaved their goaline.

Marquinhos almost hit an own goal and in City second goal, their defence just staring at that long cross and nobody's marking G Jesus.

Granted I've only seen few psg games but how's player like Moratta is even rated by Poch ? In all those games he reminds me of Biglia & Perez of 2018.

I'd say Bayern or Liverpool could possibly thrash them. Di Maria was isolated as if he's playing alone. The only good thing was Paredes put pretty good performance.

problem is psg players are overrated. Gueye and Herr the less said the better I don't know who these guys are they are incapable of simple passes all they do is run meaninglessly but those are the midfielders that get rated nowadays. Only Paredes has technical abilities. They need him with Veratti but the actual midget was injured. Neymar has been on a steep decline for years and cannot finish. Mpabbe is a speed merchant doesn't press at all and doesn't position like a 9. Hakimi another speedster no iq overrated as hell. I just personally dislike all of these players even Veratti who is one of the better ones but still a bum who for near a decade with psg pulled one disappearing act after another in the cl.

Poch just can't do it for this team it's pointless it is not his fault because he only knows one style which is high-intensity pressure bielsa school maybe he could do it with one daywalker but not three. I hope he leaves and saves himself the embarrassment.
