Sorry mean that would pay and he could start**. More doesn’t it seem possible for him to find a starting role that pays what man city pays a back up? Or am I tripping and man city really pays back up keepers like that

I gotta figure Zack will be loaned out next season or sold entirely.

didn't he just sign a new long-term contract?

Yup. Through 2025. Still might mean he can go out on loan if they see him as a long term challenger or replacemnt to the number one shirt. If they want value for him they need to play him. If he is the US #1 in Qatar (fingers crossed on qualifying) they might get a decent sum for him. MC has to fake balancing the books and that could be a way to make few dollars.

    Maybe? I don’t know.

Really hoping he gets thrown the final group stage match but considering it's a really important one, it would seem unlikely. But a fan in Louisiana can still dream!

Well, I'm here to make your dream a reality.

Steffen will start in a win, lose or draw must-play sixth and final group stage match.

Steffen gets the start. Adams on the bench. Strong squads for both sides, despite City being locked into first place.

Kind of surprised at the MC lineup. They certainly look like they are interested in knocking RBL out of Europa League.

Lots of babies on the bench if they want to pass around some Champions League minutes, though.

Circling back - in an interesting twist, Pep subbed very little.

A good, active session for Steffen - much better than standing idly by watching City rack up a big margin - had to stay involved the entire game.

Sounds like he's had a great match with several key saves.

The Good : Zack was decisive in the outcome of this game.

The Bad : Zack was decisive in the outcome of this game.

The Ugly : The game was irrelevant.

The guy needs to FN play somewhere to stay sharp and improve. He’s to good to be doing this. Sigh.

"Guardiola's team selection was somewhat surprising, although one name that was not a surprise inclusion was Zack Steffen. ...

Leipzig by no means dominated proceedings, but Steffen was much busier in the first half than his opposite number Peter Gulacsi and repaid his manager's decision to play him.

... Steffen got down smartly at his near post to tip Laimer's snapshot wide.

The US international prevented Leipzig from doubling their lead with another low save from a fierce Emil Forsberg strike, before he made himself big to block an Andre Silva header from point-blank range.

In terms of the things that Ederson does so well, Steffen looked good too. No, he didn't ping any 60-yard passes out to the wing, but he did take up excellent starting positions in order to snuff out dangerous through-balls."
