Our media has him as a done deal to Borussia Gladbach. IDV stated yesterday that there are very few details left to reach an agreement.

Oh, wow! I love the German league - great technical and tactical skill building for our younger guys. If they work hard to crack the first squad, their ceiling is unfathomable.

He been consistently playing in Spain Youth NT every year since he was 14y/o that very impressive. He is getting a decent amount of attention from the media. When ever he does come to the Ecuador NT he will be a fully seasoned player.

With the winter transfer window coming up what players should make the move abroad or change teams? In my opinion the players that should makes moves are Byron Castillo, Joao Rojas, Jose Cifuentes, Michael Estrada, Jordy Caicedo, Alexander Alvarado, and Jordan Sierra.

Castillo and Rojas are coming off strong seasons. In order for them to take their game to the next level they need to go to a better league. The same applies to Cifuentes and Jordy. Jordy is an interesting player. The physical tools are there - speed and strength. If he goes to a better league and continues to improve his game then he can challenge Estrada. Cifuentes should follow in Gruezo's steps. He made the move to Germany after a couple of good seasons in MLS. I don't think there's much left for Cifu to get out of MLS. He was recently linked to Fenerbahce. Going to a European team that plays champions or Europa is the move for him. I'm not sure why he hasn't featured in the NT more. Yes our midfield is pretty much set with Gruezo, Moises, Franco, and Mendez but Jose has interesting characteristics. He's more attack oriented which is something we need in the event we need to chase a game. He can also shoot from distance. Probably is the best at it out of all the players that are part of the national team depth pool.

Alvarado and Sierra don't play much if at all for their respective teams. Out of the U20 players that came up a couple of years ago Alvarado was one of the players that most impressed me from that squad. I said it from the beginning that going to Orlando City was a bad move for him. I looked at the roster and figured he wouldn't play much. He's at an age where he needs to play in order to get better. Being part of Tigres really set Sierra back in his career. The past two seasons have been a waste for him. Had he been part of a club that gave him playing time it wouldn't have surprised me to see him be a part of the national team.

Estrada needs to move on from Toluca. He's coming off a disappointing campaign. He needs a change of scenery. It's unfortunate his move to Boca didn't materialize. I think that would have been a good move for him. I haven't heard him be connected to any teams recently but I'm sure in the coming weeks there will be news.

Castillo was offered to Fluminense their board liked the offer so hopefully it materializes. That would be an amazing move and they do need a RB.

Rojas Price tag is high. Last season NYC wanted him offering 3m but Emelec wanted 5m .Lets see what happens. Hard to say what team will show up willing to pay that price for him. Jordy team seem to want to cash him in and sell so I def hope a good team bites I think his team wanted about 3.5m that very reasonable for him.

Alvarado could come back to Ecuador and he could easily go to any of the top 3 teams. Sierra would probably continue in another MX team or MLS dont think he would go back to Ecuador with the salary he had there.

The expectations will be high if he goes to Fluminense. I think he'd do well there though.

Rojas was recently linked to the CSL and the number quoted was 8m I think. That's way too high. I think 4m sounds about right. If they sell him then they can go after Alvarado. He was on loan with a option to buy I think.

Sierra was linked to an MLS team over the summer. He needs to get out asap.

The media did rumor Alvardo to Emelec again recently IDV too. The rumors of BSC and Liga being linked to him kinda died down but is still always a possibility.

Man I hope Jordy moves to France or Germany I would really like to see an Ecuadorian striker in those league I think they would be ideal for him.

Torres is supposedly getting some offers from Europe, too.

If we qualify for the World Cup, we're going to have an entire generation of players heading to Europe. The eyes of the world are fixed on Ecuador...it looks like the skepticism toward Ecuadorian players MIGHT be fading, but we need to do our part on the pitch. Win!

At this pace in a few years we will have more players in Europe than countries like Chile or Uruguay

Imagine, that was always the vision of Draskovic when he first saw that potential in our players...we're talking maybe 30 years ago?

These are generational shifts. Crazy to think about...

An important moment for Ecuadorian football indeed. It safe to say our football really started growing when he came along.

The reviews about this kid are absolutely glowing. Despite not having the height of modern CBs, he compensates with clean tackles and great vision for the spot.

Regardless of where he goes, I do hope that Alfaro tries to cap him very soon (to show that we mean business) and that he accepts. Spain's team will always be tougher to crack than the others, but if he comes to Ecuador, he will hopefully be warmly received. He's an asset wherever he goes...if he pans out, and all signs look bright.

Anyone see this double nutmeg Moises Caicedo inflicted on Genk? Big oof.

Say what you want about the loan, the simple fact that he's getting minutes, bulking up, and performing on the pitch is a huge reason why he's been so good for us lately in WCQ. At this current rate, he'll definitely get recalled at the end of the season and hopefully start getting minutes in the PL. He has no ceiling - it's all mental w/ him. I hope he keeps up the good performances.

At his age it's better for him to get consistent minutes on the pitch. The Belgian league is solid. The prem is the best league in the world but riding the bench is not good for a young player's development.

I haven't read anything about Emelec being connected to Alvarado but if he comes back to Ecuador I hope we get him. IDV would also be a good fit for him.

Another player that has to change teams is Alan Franco. Dude gets no minutes in Brazil. In order for him to stay sharp he needs to go to a team that's going to play him.

About a month or 2 ago there was an article or 2 linking him to Emelec and IDV a little bit before that he was being linked to BSC and Liga as well. There may not be any truth to him being linked to those teams but its always a possibility that the top 4 can pick him up.

Franco is linked to Charlotte FC and Fortaleza hope he goes to Fortaleza.

Joao Rojas said he wants to stay in Emelec to maintain form. I remember Ely Esterilla said the same thing he wanted to continue his moment in his club and maintain himself in the NT radar. He denied offer for MX and Colombia's Athletico National the same Athletico National that went to the Copa Libertadores final vs IDV. Dude 28 now and took a huge drop in form. Players need to go aboard and grow. Rojas denied offer from China, MLS, and MX. China is Understandable but MLS and MX should be considered especially if he wants to stay on the NT radar.

For a CB yes! They say he may move on to play a CDM later on. But having a player like this on our NT with Sarmiento, Plata and Moises would be incredible.

Whether or not Alvarado goes back to Ecuador depends on his contract status. Is he on loan at Orlando City or do they own his rights? If they own his rights then I could see them keeping him or loaning him out to another MLS team.

Franco at Charlotte FC with Alcivar would be interesting.

Rojas would get playing time in MLS. Emelec will play Libertadores so maybe they'll decide to keep him until next summer.
