edit45. ... The only way anything will change in Mexico's development is not qualifying for this world cup period. And at this point I hope they don't because the fmf deserve the heat for 5 years on why and hopefully show and do the changes everyone knows need to be done. Didnt think I'll ever be here but I truly think the house needs to burn down and everyone in it for radical change. But we know were all okay with business as usually and not to rock the boat Hope we get clapped by Canada 5 nil and get rid of that kunt to start looking at revamping everything
If it meant getting rid of the chant and the corruption in the FMF, and the program getting a complete overhaul, I'd be ok with Mexico missing a WC.
That's not going to happen. What will end up happening is players like Raul and Lozano missing the WC in their prime and maybe final chance.
Completely agree my friend..............its better if this crashes down and Mexico not make the World Cup. Those of you who disagree (although your opinion to be fair. ) shame on you.
How are things going to get better because of it? This idea that things get better when you hit rock bottom as if thing go in cycle and are guaranteed. Missing the world cup guarantees you jack shit. Teams do it all the time and teams sometime fall and never get back. Hungary was a World Cup favorite and they are out of the World cup and have been since 1986. Romania was a team like us that qualified out of the group stage for three straight tournament and then missed 2002 and that's it for them. Hell look at Liga MX and how Chivas fans get mad and say hope they don't qualify as if that does anything to them and they are always on the outside looking in to the big clubs that have contenders every time. The only thing that would happen is that players like Raul Jimenez and Lozano will miss the key World Cup for them. Stuff like that happens. Mexico missed the 1990 World Cup and that 1986 team that went to the QF, had the majority of those players only play that World Cup because of it. Mexico is famous for shooting itself on their feet and nothing would prove things better than miss a World Cup to own the directivos who just like fans learn the wrong lesson out of everything.
One funny thing is that people in Mexico talk all this crap about directivos and the clubs etc etc but as soon as it hampers them, they jump all over and do the same shit. Chivas, America, Cruz Azul fans all jump when it's the interest of their clubs. Any neutral guy would have seen that a prime opportunity for Alexis Vega to go would have been after the standout performance in Tokyo. It was just a key thing, literally what you hope for a player to do in a tournament like that. But Chivas fans were all over about how he shouldn't leave and how he was key with Chivas and needed to go for a title. Cruz Azul fans were all over Orbelin Pineda for failing to resign with Cruz Azul. They were all over Luis Romo and celebrated that he wasn't let go for Getafe. Now those same fans are all over him because he played like shit and Cruz Azul might be kicking themselves for turning down those 6 millions. Monterrey fans were all over people questioning Cesar Montes , etc etc. All those players are already too late to leave and yet it's the NIMBY attitude in Liga MX. Then they complain about others being greedy.
Very few Chivas fans said this. We didnt say about Chicharito and we don't say it now with Vega. You're making this up.
This is a good thread.
I want Alexis to leave Chivas. If anything, with no relegation clubs should make it easier for Mexican players to make the jump to Europe considering it won’t have any major effect on whether they remain in first division or not
TL DR & hilarious bringing up Hungary ( straw-man argument) who're stuck w/ juggernaut Germany + competitive Poland meanwhile concaCRAP's benevolent y filled w / mediocrity. U.s. failed during 2016-2017 and re-bounded 2021 Making a big deal off "Raul Jimenez's" last World Cup ironically during your prior 'arguments' MANUEL CORONA kept getting name-dropped & suddenly disappeared [ went ghost irl aswell ] from "reasons" Mexico shouldn't miss-out using Romania y Hungary = asinine, nobody cares if they've failed qualifying meanwhile WC brings higher revenue for Liga Mx corrupt leaders, Mexico getting banned would result w/scumbags like Mikel Arriola ending killed Escobar style
Hopefully it would be a wake up call to implement some real systemic changes. Like reducing foreigner spots to 3 tops. Nothing makes FMF and liga muy X listen like losing out in WC marketing $$$
Tom Marshall said one of the differences he noticed between European nations and Mexico. Is the difference in the amount of grass roots clubs. The first place where players learn how to play the game. Pretty crucial difference. Our dollars would be better spent there than fulling the bank accounts of the Liga MX owners..
So what is your suggestion buddy??? you said it yourself last time Mexico missed the World Cup was 1990!!!!!! Since then we have been cashing in on a guarantee spot at the World Cup ever since then and what the hell have we gotten off of that???? You also said that " missing a world cup does not guarantee you jack shit?" Exactly completely agree but at least it would be a wake up call anyone and everyone that were not really good at this little sport that we claim to be. And if players like Jimenez and others miss out, then maybe if they werent so terrible as a team there would of been no need to miss out on one in general to be with. Check that out buddy.
First off what guaranteed spot? Mexico had to go to New Zealand in 2014 and in 2002 we were a miracle from Trinidad and Tobago from making it. You talk about Jimenez when in 2014 the same personnel that was struggling and had the team out of the World Cup, then went to give the best performance outside Mexico since 98. In that time people were talking about leaving Chepo and missing out the World Cup to fix things because he wasn't the problem. The Chepo that has done jackshit since 2014 and can't get a job in a Liga MX that has given Rafa Puente Jr 3 chances....
Mexico playing in the powerful Concacaf cup is a guaranteed spot to always make it with a little scare here and there. But dont worry my friend, Mexico will make it yet again.......................same little game same little results since 94, 98, 02, 06, 10, 14, 18........and 22. Viva Mexico wey.
What are the problems that Mexico is having right now and how will they be fixed by missing out the World Cup? Because we just lost to two teams without relegation in their leagues and one of them which isn't filled with young prospects in Top 5 leagues. Also tell me how the "burn it all down" method has been successful and will help Mexico and not make shit worse?
Correction not the problems they are having right now, but problems they have always had ok 1.) Move away from the dinosaurs out with the old, in with the new 2.) Start limiting foreigners in Mexico and if your going to get some, it better be the best ones that you could 3.) You have to have an exodus of young players migrating to Europe some if not all will fail, but there will be an elite few that will make it. The ones that do will pave the way for the next players to go to Europe as well. 4. Start debuting players at a very young age in liga MX and/or national team so that by 18- 21 they are already an integral part for any club team/national team. And if and when its possible send them to Europe instead of enslaving them in Mexico. 5.) Stop playing stupid games year in and year out in the U.S. Start having more games in different parts of the World. I know we wont always be able to play top notch teams, but play other teams in exotic places that we never thought we could play. For example, play Israel in Tel Aviv, is better then playing Israel in Los Angeles. Playing Japan in Tokyo, is better then playing them in Houston. Playing Chile in Santiago De Chile is better then playing them in Charlotte. This will take a long time but if there is something that Mexico has it will be time to start over, but the right way. Not making the world cup will not guarantee none of this but it will sure help get some of this to better Mexico not necessarily for the today, but for the tomorrow. Mexico is to comfortable with always making it to the World Cup and always having it be the same story with the same pathetic results. Maybe................just maybe crashing out in not making one will humble the idiots of the FMF and finally get to work to get things back on track. Like i said nothing is guaranteed, but you have to start from somewhere instead of starting from nowhere amigo.
The number 5 is a reason that neither the US and Canada have done at all. If anything global football give you less and less opportunities for far away friendlies with stuff like the Nations League taking it away. We had the Mexican NT in Europe and we could only get to play Costa Rica in Austria because no team was free. The rest are all club decision that is where the real problem and are helped by missing the World Cup how? If anything the clubs used to back the NT more before. They stopped the tournament and let player go for two months before a World Cup and now you have teams not releasing players for Youth WORLD CUPS and not loaning out players for friendlies. How would this help? How is missing a World Cup changing things based on what? You're going sacrifice a World Cup for 8 years, a tournament that is key to players to "wake up" the FMF? It's not guarantee but the total opposite is more likely. Newsflash: Mexico isn't stuck because getting to the Round of 16 is not being stuck, it's super hard work. If anything Mexico needs to work more not less.
