That's because people don't know what they're talking about. The Brazil main U-20 has been through several camps together. But they have several U-20s they use for different tournaments. The guys sent to Toulon, for example, are not the same as the one they use in the youth South American championship. In this case, Brazil sent their U-18 B to the Revelations Tournament in Mexico: https://www.cbf.com.br/ Seleção Brasileira Sub-18 para a disputa da Revelations Cup 2021 Goleiros: Mycael Natan Thiago Beltrame Laterais: Dhominique Lanza Kawan Cuiabano Zagueiros: João Pedro Lucas Belezi Weberton Robert Meio Campistas: Ronald Weslley Keven Alexandre Marlon Gomes Andrey Atacantes: Sávio Matheus Nascimento Matheus Martins Marcos Leonardo Kevin Werton Officially, Brazil does not have a U-18. They have a U-17 and an U-20. Their main U-17 is here: https://www.cbf.com.br/selecao-bras...culina/selecao-brasileira-sub-17-x-paraguai-1 BRASIL: Mycael, Ataíde (Leo Maná), Rômulo (Ythalo), Gabriel Vareta e Biro; Andrey, Robinho e Luizinho (Giovani), Ângelo (Leo Maná), Matheus Nascimento (Caio), Sávio (Matheus Gonçalves). The team you claim is their A team has aged out of the U-20 cycle. It’d be like if we said we didn’t call our A team because players Hoppe, Tessmann, and Bello weren’t called in, and are still 20 or younger. This tournament is all 03’s and younger.
The team I’d start tomorrow. Borto Pierre-Che-Henry-Greene Edelman Gutierrez-Pukstas Luna Sanogo-Sullivan
The team I'd start today: CF: Sanogo LW: Aaronson RW: Sullivan CAM: Gutierrez B2B: Clark DM: Garay LB: Wiley LCB: Neal RCB: Che RB: Pierre GK: Slonina
This must be a back 3. Today's U-20 #USMNT starting line-up vs. 🇨🇴:12-Alexander Borto, 2-Kayden Pierre, 4-Justin Che, 5-Kobi Henry, 7-Quinn Sullivan, 9-Malick Sanogo, 13-Jacob Greene, 14-Jalen Neal, 16-Daniel Edelman, 17-Brian Gutierrez, 21-Caden Clark (Capt.)— U.S. Soccer YNT (@USYNT) November 13, 2021
I am half brazilian with knowledge on youth of brazil what happened was a 1 week camp with this group of players in Brazil's training ground, in october. some players have chemistry from playing in same club, like the CB pair and the DM pair. I guess they were chosen on this basis. More talented players with shots at professional minutes were not released, as calendars are very packed now and they might have to dress up in some brasileirao games (Angelo, Vini Tobias, Jader, Matheus França, Kaiky) and I guess Kayky from City not released as well Also conmebol has a backward system of U15 and U17 instead of even ages. So the 2004 (which is a much more talented generation) has much more camps together. The tall striker with funny hair and Savio played a lot together, they were reserves though. They have a much higher ceiling than Werton (mogli looking runner) and Leonardo (hat trick) who just has a much more professional body. While the October camp was to get the 2003s used to eachother for the U20 in 2023
What a crazy turn of events. Colombia goal Called back for offside. Then nearly immediately after US earns a PK as Colombia defender and GK lack communication and Clark with the paneka to put US up 1-0.
This is such a bush league tournament. First making it so difficult to watch. I'm watching on the Colombia broadcast and TUDN started it a half hour late due to spillover from France - Kazakstan?! Second, we have USA in white and blue and Colombia in light yellow and blue. How'd that fly exactly? Each team only have one set of jerseys? The other in the wash?
Truthfully, I have very limited memories of youth team friendlies being televised, so I'm not gonna complain about coverage when they are
Quinn Sullivan's talent really jumps out at you. Another reason it was so silly to draw conclusions about this pool's talent based on the Brasil match. He didn't even play & he's arguably our most promising prospect. Paredes is one of the best. He's not here due to injury. Leone isn't either, because we didn't hold camps during covid. Gomez had club duties. Pepi was too good. So you're not seeing near our best foot put fw, even from an individual perspective.
That's the one people were confusing with this one. C-BOL doesn't have U-18. This team Brazil sent is a U-18. It's not a U-20 and has nothing to do with the U-20. The "A team" would be the U-17, the 2004s, which (for the most part) are not here.
US players getting little love from this ref either. Maybe it's because hockey was the second sport I played as a kid, but I really hate seeing my guys are the only ones getting hacked down.
