di Maria with the needless giveaway this time. Poor finish from Vecino otherwise that is an equalizer.

Knock it behind for Lautaro or di Maria wide.and change the balance of the midfield. Dybala central de Paul and Lo Celso more central as well with Licha as cover instead of Guido.

Currently they seem to be getting in each others way.

Uruguay played some of their best football in a long time. We were lost. I think I only saw 5 decent minutes of football on our end. We need to be better.

Insanely clumsy passing in the midfield
This is where we miss paredes

Came in at the 30 minute mark. Didn’t appear to be a good last 15 mins

Few positional changes in midfield needed and I would bring Licha on for Guido, Need to be a little more careful with the ball and need to get Dybala into the game more. Peripheral for most of that half.

Romero what a champion. Interceptions, clearances, accurate long range passes and wandering up the pitch carrying the ball easy as you like. A real gem.

Dibu looked like he had Suarez shot covered if it didn't hit the post

That was underwhelming to say the least. After the goal it looked like Uruguay were almost done but some absolutely shocking passing from us time and time again to give them an abundance of great situations. Guido with one of the worst halves Ive ever seen from an Argentina player. Lo Celso and the attack not much better. Has Lautaro even touched the ball? Emi flawless as usual and the CBs as good as you can expect really, with all those horrible turnovers from the guys further up the pitch.

Lo Celso has been non existent. Dybala looks great everytime he did touch the ball. RDP needs to be pushed more to the front, he cant play "5" role as good as Paredes. He's clearly uncomfortable.

    Dibu and Romero are champs

Take out Guido for Lisandro. We can't keep possession and we need more midfield control.

I would switch the position of De Paul and Lo Celso. The LM position does not suit Lo Celso.

All lo celso did was back pass x 100

This is true. Not a good match for Lo Celso and Rdp was underwhelming by his standards.

    Romero is our MVP

I felt that this team could actually fell behind in certain games, especially in games like this or against them aswell few weeks ago, but Emi made the biggest difference. Against any other goalie, they might have been 1 or 2 goals ahead but instead they're still 0 .

With all our previous goalkeepers, we would have conceided early and play a chasing game.

I’m just getting home, so I haven’t seen the first half yet, but I always thought Guido was trash. Never convinced me, even though he’s a River product. He’s just so average in every aspect.

I’ve been hoping for some time that a younger DMF pops up out of the woodworks to be Paredes’ alternative (or even Lisandro Martinez, as stated before), but I’ve just grown to accept that Guido has a spot locked in Scaloni’s consideration (even moreso after the copa win)

Lo Celso has been very poor.

I dont understand why Dybala was taken off at the half.

Shocking that they still keep giving the ball away, over and over again. Yes, Uruguay press well at times but we’ve given it away more today than the rest of the eliminatorias combined.

Perhaps because Tucu could help to press in midfield. We didnt see much of the ball after first 15 minutes.

Time to push the backline a bit higher I think. We obviously can’t handle their pressing and they don’t really have any pace up front anyway. We’ll concede at least a couple if this horror show continues.

Bizarre changes which have done nothing to help the balance of midfield. Concerning from the coaching staff. Is Scaloni prepared to pick anyone outside of his familiar choices. Still no sign of Licha for example.

Too many players placed out of position for me.

The only reason I can think is Scaloni is saving Dybala for Brazil. Dybala looked good out there and his pressing gave us the goal.

    Tucu hasn't done anything....

Still not mixed it up either. Still playing out from the back inviting the press and then losing the ball in our third.

Hit it over a couple of times with the pace of Lautaro and di Maria and make them think twice about the high press. Poor tactics as well from the staff if they keep insisting on this. Mix it up.

Dybala is on a yellow. He is a bit clumsy when he goes in for a ball. If I’m not mistaken, he picked up two yellows v Uruguay in his first senior call-up(Or first time starting). So, maybe that’s why.
