    He wasn't vaccinated actually.

But that matters not a whit to the anti-vaxxers.

None of those potential confusions explain why the most common answer was more than 50 times higher than the correct answer. It's like being asked how far is it between New York and Boston, and responding with 20,000 miles. Oops, did I write "miles"? I mean "km".

Ummm... yeah, still high by just a bit.

I also don't see any reason why the question would be more confusing to Democrats than Republicans.

Generally speaking, the intelligence of democrats is incredibly overrated.

Fair enough. Like I say I'm not a professional comedian or comedy writer, (although I have written a few jokes for TV gag shows but that was nearly 40 years ago).

I was just saying that comedy can be quite dark and that's always been the case.

Bob Monkhouse famously had a very troubled relationship with his mother, summed up best by a joke he told about it years later...

"My mother tried to kill me when I was a baby. She denied it. She said she thought the plastic bag would keep me fresh."

I mean, that's preeeety fecking dark.

Do you have any evidence that repeated flu vaccination leads to more safety issues?

Do you mean the singular you or the plural you? The whole point of language is for me to take thoughts that are in my brain, and share them with your brain. Language only works if we all agree on it.
Again, is the "your" here singular or plural?

I doubt you'll get my point because you're triggered. I hope everyone else will.

Referees should be instructed to card any Footie player encroaching closer than 6' to an opponent or team mate. Would not only be safer but would eliminate most fouls.

I have a sincerely held religious belief that I can bang Angelina Jolie any time I want and I totally reject your so-called 'laws' and 'restraining orders' stopping me...you bloody fascists, you

Don’t think anyone here is a professional comedian so anyone could put their foot in their mouth trying to be funny. But when it’s pointed out to them, to not quickly apologize and say “my bad” but instead double down and continue to claim it’s an acceptable joke.

    Creepy as hell.

Just because someone says a joke is unacceptable doesn't mean it is.

It's an opinion but that's all it is.

I just hope this dude never watches Doug Stanhope tell 'The Aristocrats' joke to the little kid coz he'll just plain explode.

Mind you, that IS beyond the pale.

Even Dave Chappelle's latest Netflix show might be too much for him.

Ironically, it's these politically-correct, pat-myself-on-the-back for thinking of the feelings of every group of peoples at all times (even if totally inaccurate) that give comedians like Chappelle and Gervais some of their best material. :D And also help Trump get elected. :(

You managed your entire life to use a plural pronoun as a singular pronoun but only today, as you try to defend your prejudice, has it struck you that it is problematic. You have managed your entire life to use "you" in both plural and singular contexts, you could manage the same with "they", if you actually decided to be respectful of people different than yourself. But just as we see it is difficult for white supremacists to be respectful to people of color, so it is difficult for you to be respectful of the LGBT community - as you have demonstrated over and over again in these forums.

If you have successfully managed your entire life to use a plural pronoun as a singular pronoun, you could do it with "they" as well, that is if you actually wanted to show respect to people who are different to you. But then as Jesus said - "Insult and demean those you don't approve of, for you are righteous and they are vile and dirty sinners who cannot be redeemed" - I think Jesus said that, at the very least it's a paraphrase of what his followers like you say he said. I can directly quote a former roommate who, after returning from Bible study and with a Bible still in hand, said to me: "The only thing gays are good for is to beat up and kill" - actually, he didn't say "gays", what he said had the same number of letters but the "g" was the third letter and the first started with an "f". Either way, as a closeted gay guy I knew exactly what he was saying and the image of Jesus he was portraying. The big difference between my former roommate and you is that at least my former roommate was honest about his feelings and didn't try to hide his prejudice behind hypocritical approaches to pronouns like you do.

I don't have a problem with not telling jokes that I think may offend people and, tbh, that's wasn't my intention. But it is possible that someone's opinion of something may genuinely be different to someone else.

Pretty much every good joke *may* offend someone. But your comment was more analogy than joke, which makes the negative comments on it even more desperado.

More Brogan disinfo ... oh wait ...

The FDA is probing whether the Moderna vaccine can cause a rare side effect in teens

    https://www.npr.org/sections/corona...rna-vaccine-can-cause-a-rare-side-effect-in-t

A recent unpublished study by Sweden's Public Health Agency showed a slightly increased risk of inflammation of the heart muscle and prompted four countries to stop giving the shot to young men and boys. The company's vaccine had previously been approved by The European Medicines Agency for use in children between ages 12 and 17.

Thanks for posting this. I ran across this guy a week or two ago and he seems legit in terms of how he analysis information. Watched a couple of his videos.

One was about people giving vaccines not aspirating the shot before injection to make sure a blood vessel wasn't hit as the vaccine is meant to be applied intramuscular and not intravenous as initially recommended by manufacturers ... although the FDA apparently isn't instructing for the shot to be aspirated (I don't know why even if the chance is small of hitting a vessel where vaccines are being administered).

The other was an analysis of data available from studies concerning natural vs vaxx immunity.

Yes you are. You are intentionally drawing a link between a medical condition that occurs and a status of the persons vaccine, and blaming the medical condition on the vaccine. And you are doing so without any evidence. With zero evidence. There is zero link between the two. And by saying there is a link, you are also saying that hundreds to thousands of medical approval boards/committees have either missed or ignored the possibility of that link. Are you an expert in the field to make such a claim?

I haven't see Chappelle's most recent special, and probably won't. But in the past he's been pretty funny.
I have never found Gervais funny. I don't like the way he cuts down people to get laughs. To me, it's mean, not funny.

I can't speak for the states but my guess is that the number of people they've had to train over here to give jabs in a very short period of time means they didn't have enough time to get them all trained in the appropriate technique.

In any event, according to him the number of times that might happen is one in every few thousand cases and the danger mainly relates to young men. The numbers involved are vanishingly small so we're talking about a tiny fraction, (if that), of an even smaller number of people who might happen to have the jab into a vein who might get ill... possibly... if they happen to be young men.

To try and stop it I guess we need to retrain the huge number of people they've trained to give jabs on the off chance it might make a difference which we don't know anyway.

Having said that I can see his point it's something worth thinking of but, presumably, the regulatory authorities have thought differently.

Well, until now if the FDA change their advice.

This has been discussed up thread somewhere.
The key point is "rare." IIRC, the number is something like 17. Total. Now that is a worry, but the discussion up thread also points out that the kids recover after a day or two.
And the paper is also unpublished. I understand the need to get the latest info out, but with this I will say that NPR is being irresponsible.
