Not doubting you at all- but where did you see this? So strange with still a handful of games left in the season.

    Which coach?

Emmett Rutkowski is still there - got hired in February 2020 and was there for Senior Night on October 13.

He was fired because he got a DUI and didn’t report it to his employer. They found out during a routine background check. If you try to hide something like this eventually it will catch up to you. If you come clean right away, you may have a chance to retain your job or they may give you a chance to resign, but if you hide it then you are getting fired.

Why not put the 2019-20 information elsewhere?

Usually another thread and discussion for this, but is anyone on the hotseat as the season begins to wrap up?

Rich Ryerson retires at UNLV at the end of the season so that will be open.

I would think Ohio State might start looking. They have gone 14-40 in four years. They are 0-5 in Big Ten and in last place. This would be third time in four years that they are last place. Only won four Big Ten games in four years. The program is no better than when the current coach took over

I would give Maisonneuve more time. If you believe that he's a quality coach, changing for changing sake is not always the best option.

Looking at the talent - they just need a more reliable goal scorer - they have plenty of set-up guys. It's tough. I prefer patience until the coach shows that he is incompetent (or can't do the job).

Time to give John Bluem some credit. Found ways to win and rarely had a disastrous season usually finishing in the top half of the Big Ten. He may not have achieved the status that people on this thread wanted him to but 6 Big Ten Championships, 10 NCAAs, and a College Cup Runner-up was a pretty legit career in his 20 years at OSU.

Not DI, but historic NAIA coach Ray Wells is retiring from Lindsey Wilson College. The nine-time NAIA national champion started the program from scratch in 1990. Much deserved and a great career. Congrats!

If there were a College Soccer Hall of Fame (and there should be), Ray Wells would be in it.

Any thoughts on why Delaware is open and who may fill it.

    My take:

It's a good job. Best available open position right now.
Conference you can do well in relatively quickly.
Great location 1 hour to Philly, Baltimore, DC and 2+ hours to NYC. Fertile recruiting. At least 5 Academy teams within 3 hours driving distance.
Good academically but not great so you can get kids in.
A lot of majors to attract kids.
Has a recent (2014 / 2015) history of winning, getting into NCAA tourney.
