I want Soccer to become the most popular sport in the United States. I believe with a few 2 years cycles this would happen here(USA)

I agree with you friend, I also believe that if you have a World Cup every two years there would be several problems, including the big clubs.
10That means every other year, they would have to release their star foreign players, back to their national teams.
2-So every other year, you will have a bad year for club football, vs every four years.
3- You are taking away from the prestige of the event. One reason why it is so special just to qualify is it is every four years so if you miss out, you have to wait another four years. If you win, your team goes down in football history and will forever be remembered. You will take away that magic, if you make it two years, just my take.

Unfortunately, I do not think Soccer or football will ever surpass American football, it is too imbedded in American culture, and it is 100% American. I am a navy vet and 40- What is interesting is for Americans who are 44 and under, soccer/football is the 3rd most popular sport, ahead of baseball and behind American football and basketball. With the 45 and older crowd, baseball is 3rd and soccer is 4th.

I think Football and basketball will always remain the two most popular sports for a few key reasons. 1- Our best athletes do not play soccer, like they do in Europe and those who do, mostly have to play at least 3 years in college. In Europe, by the time the young lad turns 18, he already has a few years of professional club football experience. It might be with a big club's B team or II team but they are picking that up.
Rather than go through the brutal NCAA schedule, they are picking up 3 years of pro experience in the Bundesliga, EPL, La Liga, Sirea A etc- so by the h time they are 21-22, they are already a fully developed professional.
Now with American athletes, since football and basketball are more popular, the best athletes, including me, would pick those two sports over soccer. I had to give up soccer/football for American football because you had to pick and I had a better chance to play college football vs college soccer. Now soccer/football can be the SOLID #3 behind American football and basketball but I just don't ever see it being the #1 sort unless two things happen.
1- Now they have a slight break where at least you can advertise but that is not enough
2- There needs to be a drastic population shift and more European and Latin Americans, need to come to the States. By 2030, Census estimates (used to work there for a minute) that US will be the 3rd most Spanish speaking populated country, next to Mexico and Spain. There is a chance that it can be the #2 and surpass basketball but good luck with American footbal. THE NFL and College football is KING in the USA in fact, the 3 most popular sports are

    1- NFL
    2- NBA
    3- NCAAA Football
Then Soccer and baseball are neck and neck it depends which generation. ours prefers soccer, the older generation prefers baseball.

Absolutely not. It would dilute the aura of the world cup.
