Both Wijndal and AZ seem to have been finding their groove back of late. That’s good news for us. More competition for Blind.

Wijndal really should be looking to move to a better club soon though. He’ll only stagnate at AZ.

Wondering what might be a good place for Wijndal. Seems too early for him to go abroad, but the other Eredivisie big dogs don’t really need LB’s… unless Ajax is phasing out Blind (which is unlikely, given how he’s been performing lately).

It all depends on the league/team in order to determine if its too soon for him to leave or not. One thing is certain, he won’t progress much if at all by staying at AZ.

Gakpo out for 3-4 weeks. Ouch. Will likely miss Oranje dates.

From provisional squad, does it mean LVG and his staff think Rensch and LDJ are better than other players who play at the same position but are not on the list? This is crazy. Even they may not make the final team, I still prefer to see someone who is more deserving.

Karsdorp omission still remains a mystery.

  7. Nope and not a mystery.
It's Blind, who pulls the strings in the selection draft to be put on the table for LvG.
When is a journalist slamming him with his own quote to select proven players that play regularly and his latest remark about the non-CL clubs being "jut en jul" quality opponents not to be taken seriously for selection for the Orange squad.
So a bencher who plays for Young Ajax against our second tier clubs is far more eligable than players facing champions of other leagues.
Just once ask as a seriuos journalist that fecking question to provoke "Mr Know it all better" to explain this idiotic thing.

    [IMG]https://www.vi.nl › nieuws › wijndal-over-cluj-en-de-jut-en-jul-uitspraak-van-gaal

  8. One of the stupid things he said was this:
Louis van Gaal was totaal niet te spreken over de Conference League, het nieuwe toernooi van de UEFA. Volgens de bondscoach van Oranje zorgde het alleen maar voor meer belasting van de spelers. Dat niet alleen: "Ze spelen tegen Jut en Jul!"

How on earth can it give more overload to players? They're not playing more than CL or Europa League players, so why arenot you whining about the CL ones.
Anyway, as he's not selecting that many playing in that jut en jul league, how does that matter?

With Gakpo likely to miss the next cycle, and Weghorst possibly rusty/out of shape due to his Covid issues - there's a scenario know where Luuk might actually see the field vs. Montenegro and/or Norway.

Mahlen started at striker for Dortmund in place of an injured Haaling. I would go for him over Luukinho.

Naah... the attacking position have several other better options than Luuk. Memphis is a sure starter on top. You can take Berghuis as RW to the bank! Lang has proved to be a capable LW. Then you still Malen (can comfortably play in all three forward positions), and Danjuma as solid contenders.

Luuk is embarrassing. Barca fans are killing him now which is both not surprising and very sad, but Koeman should never have brought him to the club.

Guys, I wasn't suggesting I want to see Luuk out there. Quite the contrary. Just concerned he might somehow get on the field - esp. if Weghorst isn't in shape to go.

Danjuma scored the tying goal today.

He now has 5 goals in 9 Liga matches

Had a goal disallowed in the first half as well… offside maybe by an inch or two, crazy tight. Also had a highlight moment when he nutmegged a defender with a back heel while turning his body. Smooth.

I saw that too, wondering why the heck VAR didnt take a look at it

I have to admit Danjuma is starting to grow on me a bit

Good to see Danjuma getting the attention he deserved all along. Man has always been class.

A brilliant goal. Had two defenders on him, and an incredibly difficult angle to shoot on goal.

German press are reporting that Haaland will not play the remainder of the year because of his thigh injury. This means Ajax won't face him in the rematch CL game with Dortmund and the NT won't face him either.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think Haaland’s presence would have mattered as far as Ajax is concerned. The NT will breathe a sigh of relief though.

That's crazy when you consider the NT has Van Dijk, De Vrij and De Ligt. Is that just because of the system? Surely Alvarez plays a huge role.
