Adding Danny Cabezas to the list. Not sure how I feel about bringing so many experimental players to this friendly at this point. We kinda need to treat this match as another WCQ match. We need to improve on various points and I would like to see all our main players there and players we would call in the next WCQ match if possible.

Is this an official Fifa date?

Might get tricky with so many Euro leagues having those return restrictions after games played in South America and vice versa.

In most instances I would agree with you, but it makes no sense to have our European players come to play non-accountable games when the competitive level of the club/league play is tougher. As the calendar starts getting jammed up until mid-Dec, our guys run higher risks of getting injured. To me, the risk is too high.

Im still worried that we dont have a solid base yet. I also hate loosing to MX and am pretty sure we will end up with a bad result.

When we had Rueda we would still call up our best team to face Jamaica and Honduras. This team need to find more consistency. I agree we shouldnt risk all players but i would like to see a call of players that would be useful for the next coming WCQ matches.

Joao Ortiz, Nilson Angulo, Marlon Mejia, Gustavo Cortrez are player that probably wont be called up again in a while. I hope the deserving players in Liga MX and MLS get the call. Jefferson Intriago, Anderson Julio, Washington Corozo, Jose Cifuentes, Erick Castillo, Anibal Chala these guys could be very useful to our next games.

This makes me seriously question his judgement - 2 goals to his name and he wants a storybook goal instead of just chasing the win. It was close, but a miss is a miss. Arrogance costing Fenerbahce the W.

That being said, at least he IS scoring.

Sometimes horrible misses tend to stick with strikers/forwards longer than the sweet joy of netting goals. I hope this doesn't seep deep into his psyche.

Would he try it w/ the NT...if he does, he better score. Otherwise, I'm putting him on the bench in the next match.

Nevermind, he scored once, failed the panenka, and then scored another pk.

    Still....don't get cocky, Enner!

That game was very important to them. He could of had the hat trick and 3 points that they needed. Fener were the favorites to win too. He got very cocky there.

    Agreed.

From a veteran player like Enner, the decision making process is very suspect, and something I hope Alfaro looks at...as the games become more accountable for Ecuador in the weeks and months ahead, the pressure can absolutely cloud judgement. That's a big risk for Ecuador. Will we crack under pressure?

Arrogance that blew up in his face and the whole team suffers the consequences.

Seeing Felipe Caicedo assist and score makes me mad.

This man could have been a big help for us but decided to dip because he couldn't take criticism.

I do hope we find a pivot type CF before the world because Estrada is a support striker and Enner is basically a winger. I thought Campana was going to fit that role but the kid is too slow and his instincts have regressed since 2019 South American championship.

I agree w/ you, but it's too early to tell what Campana can do with Ecuador in the future...isn't he 20 years old? Besides the 2019 SA championship, he's still green.

Caicedo couldn't take criticism, but he decided to not play for the NT and took his career to focus on club ball. Ecuador, years back, was marred with scandal and a toxic environment. I don't blame him for leaving when he did...I do wish he would get offered an olive branch to come in (clean slate), but I think Alfaro is scared to go down that route. We'll have future gems. For now, we should just look to work with the material we have - there is no other choice :(

Yeah he's 21 but he really needs the goals. You can tell his lack of scoring has affected his playing style because he hesitates with everything.

As much as I dislike the choices Caicedo and Ramirez made, I can't blame them because that's the typical Ecuadorian mentality. When the going gets tough, players dip.

However, this new generation seems different because they're hungry for success and aren't satisfied with status quo.

Caicedo can ******** off. That dude shouldn’t be part of any discussion of this new generation. He quit 4 years ago and has rejected several coaches since then.

Jose Carabali, Michael Carcelén and Joshué Quiñónez have been called to the game vs MX. Josue hasnt player in the first team since August and Jose just came back from injury.

Some players got denied to go at the last minute. Romario, Intriago were the only ones I saw that were denied im sure there are others. This international friendly really turned into a Microciclo. MX is gonna go with a youth squad.

Our rumored XI is gonna be this still no full squad list has been released by us.

Hernán Galíndez; Andrés López, Luis Segovia, Marlon Mejía y Christian Cruz; Michael Carcelén, Jhonny Quiñonez, Joao Ortiz, Nilson Angulo y Janner Corozo; Michael Estrada.

Can’t really blame Caicedo he left a hornet’s nest, also when he didn’t do well on a game people started saying racist crap on his media acc.I remember him posting a pic of his young daughter and some comments were way off line towards his child and wife,he closed it and never posted anything again.I don’t blame him one bit for saying no,there’s only so much you can take especially when it involves your family.

I don’t know ,they don’t move it enough, only those 2 attacks and 2 kinda “how did they’ get those in”type of goals.defense seems a little shaky, but I’ll take it.

Tata has been struggling with MX. They been very bad defensively.

I'm glad they let these mistakes. Our. Team hasn't had any movement up front like that in a while. I hope they build more momentum and get more goals in.

With a completely different squad as well. Alfaro tactics are definitely a problem.

I also feel like the teams are evenly matched. We could still lose if they don't start playing seriously.

    What just happened?

Why can’t Alfaro fix this issue? Galindez save us with that last minute play.

Damn. Alfaro’s tactics are so questionable. As you guys said, it seems that we are going to end up losing even if we are winning. Can’t close out a game.
