Rapids host the the inventors of soccer and the 2nd best team in MLS on Wednesday this before also having a home game Saturday against Portland. So this is Cascadia week, we should grow beards and wear raincoats. What else? I hope the Rapids win because I like the Rapids and hate the Sounders. I’m predicting a 2-2 draw because Seattle are good.
1-1 draw, goal by Barrios. Sadly I don't think the Rapids have it in them to make the West a race after what happened Saturday. Seattle is a better team at this point, especially when the going gets tough (they're 0.5 PPG better against playoff teams than we are). Colorado will put up a good fight but in the end the focus should be on 2nd, and holding on to 3rd, which makes next Saturday's match the most important one left on the schedule. Beating Portland should all but lock in hosting in the first round and avoiding a trip to Seattle in the second round. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2021/10/last-shot-at-first-place.html
Tough week for the Rapids in a lot of ways. They didn't really show up for thee FSL match, plus they rested Acosta and Kaye (in the long run, a good idea). They have a midweek match against a team they have no margin of error against and then another challenge on Saturday v Portland. And they have another midweek match next week at NE. So Fraser will have to bee thinking of squad rotation with every match.

Screw it. Rapids win tonight. They're gonna come out out of the gates running and score an opening minute goal - Ala Deshorn Brown - and never trail in this game... Yarbrough plays out of his mind with 6+ saves, but unfortunately doesn't keep his clean sheet. Rapids win in a back and forth a thriller, 4-3 for the good guys. Seattle with the bulk of the possession, but the Rapids with the bulk of the counter attack goals and the winner coming in the 90th+ minute.
So, we don’t have Namli (injury) or Rubio (yellow card accumulation 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐗𝐈 ⚽️ 7:00 PM📺@AltitudeTV📻@AltitudeSR📱#COLvSEA@MyKingSoopers x #Rapids96 https://t.co/ak4ebWJtBK— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) October 21, 2021 It also looks like we don’t have Kaye as an attacking winger, thankfully! Instead, it looks like we have Badji and Lewis as the floating wingbacks in the back 3/5??? Unless Acosta is playing LB in a 4-3-3?? I can’t make heads or tails of this selection This will be interesting to see how this lineup mashes together on the pitch tonight
I don't know how to feel about Badji starting, but this is the situation we got him back to help with...
You can hear the chants of “Rapids Reject” being directed at Benezet on the TV broadcast. Funny stuff
I made a plea for that on Facebook after Jason posted Benezet's comments. I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking this though. That tool deserves his abuse!
Really? Thought we outplayed Seattle by a fair margin - especially the first 20-25min. They only looked dangerous on counters/long ball over the top
They're letting us have the ball in non-dangerous situations and we're doing nothing with it. We have not threatened them at all.
