Anyone have a photo of him even training with the team? Any updates from Chelsea?
He has to stay healthy the rest of the season. If he gets another injury, even one that keeps him out just 2 weeks, Chelsea will off load him, and no one could blame them

The club released some pix of CP at training over the weekend. He also modeled his new training kit...

I'm just trying to put numbers out there to calm down all the people expecting him to leave Chelsea ASAP.

He's not been a bust. He's not been a total success. He's just a decent rotation guy.

Chelsea is unlikely to sell a decent rotation guy for a big loss. And no one is likely to pay the salary Chelsea is paying him after what he's shown.

There was an update this morning that he was still not practicing today.

Twice in his career- Christian has made a really bad decision to continue
on the field after he knew he was hurt.

First time, against Arsenal in the Cup final when he did materially more damage to his hamstring trying to run and kick the ball after it was clear he pulled it.

This time, while laudable for USMNT fans with the Honduras game (that he would try to play through the injury for many minutes), he apparently made it much worse.

He needs to learn to stop and get off field as soon as these things happen.

Gutted that he apparently will miss this next set of games as well. It's a layup for scoring and he had such a good set up to re-enter the starting lineup. Werner, Havetz etc are certain to take advantage against these weakling opponents coming up.

RE: the FA Cup Final... Did you want him to stop on a dime? He took a couple more steps and kicked the ball. I'll give you he probably shouldn't have pushed the ankle after coming off.

More like 5 or 6 steps over 10 yards, but I'm sure we'd both agree that we hope it never happens again. He really needs to put in a year with little or no injuries to change the narrative on him.

I can agree we don't want that happening again. 10 yards while running is five to six steps for a four year old though.

That FA Cup injury was especially disappointing because he was dominating that match. It was one of his best pro performances for sure

You must not have reviewed the tape.

In a soccer context, 10 yards can be a lot or a little. (number of steps), depending on the situation.

After full sprinting, Christian had to slow down in order to get control on his shot.
He also had to shift to his favored right foot. So regardless of the hammy,
he was going to change to shorter and choppier steps to either position
to shoot or round the keeper.

There are several tapes out there that show the moment that (Christian must
have known) his hammy was gone. You see a big wince that becomes more labored with every step.

But he continued to move forward at limited pace and to round the ball in order to be able to shoot on his right..at the same time he was being slowed both by the hammy.

I've seen more experienced players stop running immediately as
soon as they feel that first tug. 'Cause they know it's game over for their hammy and running further will only create more damage- perhaps significant.

Christian didn't try to stop....partly 'cause he's a tough kid, but also partly because it was a big game and he wanted to finish off the move.

I just hope now he is more cognizant of the consequences in those situation. He's a super duper expensive Ferrari that needs to be super careful with his body- despite my admiration for his desire to help his team.

That first team could be more realistic to achieve, although I don't see that team making european places and that is what CP needs/deserves.

    That second team...lol not happening.

It's amazing Pulisic is still not training with the squad and is listed as doubtful for Saturday...He's not only injury prone which is bad enough but a slow healer...That's way too much for a team to deal with.

And now Newcastle is linked with Timo.

Seems like Lampard is a lock to take over Newcastle, and he's looking to bring over some of his Chelsea favorites.

Looks like Prince Bonesaw is ready to start spending big in Newcastle.

He could buy a team to compete with Cite with the change he carries in his wallet.

Covid makes you play worse, I'm sorry to say.

I wouldn't be shocked if it got in the way of recovery from injury

    I’d imagine being asymptotic matters.

COVID does help you understand Kai Haverts struggles though

If the virus fails to adapt to us and they get sick 5+ more times with it, they'll be playing like I play now.
