Incredibly depressing to see our team at 60% capacity. 4 starters out. Sad.

That early sub is turning into a blessing in disguise for Mexico. Corona is just shredding our guys.

He’s playing for free with that foul. Portillo is lucky VAR isn’t available.

One big criticism I have is he’s been calling Claros for a while yet wouldn’t give him playing time? I get he couldn’t in the games played in the US yet never tried him out in others.

    We can’t cross worth shit.

I know after it’s all said and done we shouldn’t be complaining about the red since we’ve gotten away with a few calls ourselves that would have sealed it much earlier.

2-0 loss, they looked devoid and out of ideas. We knew this team had no depth but holy ******** does it fall off a cliff when a few guys go down.

Edit: Vigil got away with one earlier ref wasn’t going to forgive that the second time.

I've lost a ton of respect for Hugo. He continuously calls up players just to not play them. Jacobo is so ********ing fat and slow and never played with us before and walks into the team over Claros or Romulo? No chance. Joshua is horrible and offers nothing. The fact he gets calls up is a joke and it must be questioned. It's obvious he's stubborn but these two L's are on him and ofc bad luck. Missing Eriq, and Ronald is unbelievable luck but he shit the bed.

I think that Hugo has a big issue of not knowing what to do outside the starting 11. I believe our full team beats this Mexico team hands down. But he starts Jacobo over Villalobos/Claros (who came in and played extremely well) & played Portillo over Martinez and Portillo is TRASH. He should have played Sorto over Rivas bc like someone above said, he had a decent GC and that’s it, nothing. We play with a man down with him starting at ST. Depressing to say the least, but Vigil had a great game, think he should be behind Zavaleta/Rodriguez.

His over reliance on Alianza is a problem. He should be scouting the rest of the clubs much more diligently, I know the windows are short but this is the route he should go to, It would also get the Alianza FO to shut the hell up for a bit.

Hugo bringing in/scouting Salvadorans abroad is basically just a bandaid solution at this point

This team will never be successful without a competitive league or a strong homegrown core.

The team yesterday lacked identity and looked lost.

Just look at Canada, they're making so much progress thanks to investments in developing young players professionally within the country, their league whose clubs are now regularly beating Salvadoran clubs with ease...

What's going on FAS, Aguila, Metapan???

It was always a bandaid solution, Hugo’s thought process was probably that this would light a fire in the clubs to grow. Man oh man was he naive and the clubs are pushing back. I think one of the saddest thing to happen was Juventud Independiente ceasing to exist, they were a tiny club but knew they had to go the development route since money was always short I felt this is were Juan Ramon Sanchez shined at it just sucks it didn’t transfer over well when he was given the reigns to the U23.

FAS, Águila are clubs entire based on results so they ignore player development which sis dumb because that would help mitigate the problems they run into each year about not being able to pay players. I have no clue on Metapan, heck Alianza should go this route like I mentioned in another post they have youngsters that can ball and have because Alianza haven’t been at 100% all season and are still the best club in the league. But sadly they would rather spend needlessly on foreigners or over the hill guys *cough* Fito *cough*

It’s absolutely sad how much it feels like we’re crashing back down to reality. Bringing in the foreign players have increased our depth and made us stronger, but what happens when they’re unavailable? We still have to look into our broken domestic league.

That high and optimism from defeating Panama and winning 1-0 to Costa Rica away was fun while it lasted :(
