there's also an increase in testosterone (elevated roughly 10%) when playing at home, more than likely from adrenaline
He plays like he thinks he’s Ronaldo… he’s a good player, but it feels like he lacks vision. He’s a good disrupter, but I feel he needs to be surrounded by skillful players to shine. When he tries to get things done by himself, it’s usually not good.
Studies have shown especially when it involves people named Greg heading the ball in Central America.
hard to call that a blunder. Weah put an absolute rocket against the post and bounced off the keeper. probably would have happened to Navas as well. There was legitimately no time to react. Weah hit the hell out of it.
Won possession 64-36. 86 % pass accuracy compared to 75 % for the opposition. Had 12 shots, 5 on target. Conceded 5 shots, 3 on target. Came from behind to win the match.
We don't need to be playing with a dedicated 6 against teams that are way worse than us. The current version of Costa Rica counts as that. So, tonight, while we strictly adhered to our 4-3-3, we could have gone with a 4-2-3-1 with a dedicated 10, and the attacking side of the game would have been much, much better.
Navas makes that save. It’s the difference between a Champions League-level keeper and a CONCACAF backup. I know Weah smoked that one, but Navas has seen that one dozens of times in the matches he plays.
Forget the ‘impossible to save/easiest save ever’ debate. Advocating for a goalkeeper to start, who doesn’t play any games, is madness. And taking this position because he gets a little bit closer to not kicking the ball out of bounds than the other keeper is hysterical. Steffen can back up the starter because that’s what he’s good at apparently, you know, based on his club career and all
If he was “still reeling” he shouldn’t have played. But that wasn’t the issue. The issue remained the same as in Juventus—sloppy touches.
Watching El Salvador-Mexico on Mexican TV (Televisa). LOL at the Mexican announcers complaining about the El Salvador fans raining bottles down on the Mexican players.
I follow your logic, but… You are thinking we insert a playmaker like Hagi or Zidane Greg is thinking we insert Acosta…
He shouldn't have gone for a header, then he should have sent it over the sideline. That the ball comes back instantly is unfortunate, as Steffen didn't set himself up properly. The forward wasn't close enough to the ball as he would go for it just automatically, to assume that they both didn't't see Dest, and both decided to stop playing because of that is a stretch. And even after that the shot still was savable if he had better reflexes.
Steffen is much better than Turner. It’s not really a competition at this point because Turner is not a complete player yet.
I'm going to make a prediction: Assuming health, Musah will be our best player in 2 years.... Hopefully he can get close to that by the World Cup.
Why the hell does Chris Richards have any haters? That fact alone shows us how stupid this fanbase is. He wasn’t passing well in this one, but its easy to see why he’s a Bundesliga player and Miles Robinson plays in MLS.
I don't know if I agree with that. In my post I was just saying I don't think Clark is ready and offered an alternative in Reyna. Who would you start in the double pivot and at the 10 in front of them?
Steffan has given up many multiple ugly goals. Turner not a single one. Playing backup for City means very little.
With all due respect, this is the problem with a lot of posters here. People need to get ESPN+ and Paramount+ and watch our guys in Europe. At least once in a while.
A big guy like that who just runs through guys straight at goal can be really special. He probably needs to move to the Prem because he’s more a Prem player than a La Liga player.
You must have missed the goal he gave up in his own 6 in the last game. It cost us our first loss in what…17 games or something?
