OB Odense vs. Brøndby IF, 2-2
    0-1 Mikkel Uhre (4')
    0-2 Mikkel Uhre (43')
    1-2 Emmanuel Sabbi (55')
    2-2 Mart Lieder (84')
    Attendance : 10,694

As the highlights below also reveal, it was more than just a goal, but an all together great performance by Sabbi against the Danish Champions from last season. As earlier written in the Cappis at Brøndby thread, then they are badly struck by covid-19, and with Cappis and 4 other players still being out, while Josip Radosevic was back playing from start. Sabbi was subbed out at the very end in the very last minute.

I believe Sabbi was also born in Italy. He would count as a “domestic” player which would be a advantageous for any Serie A/B club who was interested.

Looks like Sabbi started against Velje, today, and they went up 3-0 in just 8 minutes. Sabbi not on the scoresheet, though.

In an interview with the Danish soccer website campo.dk a few days ago, Sabbi said that he is highly disappointed with not having been called up for the USMNT or even In an interview with the Danish soccer website campo.dk a few days ago, Sabbi said that he is highly disappointed with not having been called up for the USMNT or even had as much as a mail or phone call from them since he last played in a U-23 NT friendly vs Brazil two years ago (along with his former Hobro team mate Christian Cappis), and that he is now open for playing for Ghana instead.

Should he get a phone call from Ghana with an offer to represent the ‘Black Stars’, then the OB winger would listen closely [to what they have to say].

"- Yes, definitely. It would be something I would discuss with my family and parents, and then we would make a decision together. I would be very happy if Ghana called. I grew up in the US, but my family background is Ghanaian, so it would be cool for me to represent the US, but it would be great for my family if I represented Ghana," Sabbi said.

And he has no doubt about how his parents would react if their son came to represent their country of birth [Ghana].

"- They would be so proud of me. They would be so ecstatic that they probably would not even know what to say. It would be an achievement that no one in our family had ever achieved before, and that is always super cool," Emmanuel Sabbi said.

Campo.dk have been in contact with the American Football Association, but since they are currently playing important World Cup qualifiers, they were not given the opportunity to get a comment from NT coach Gregg Berhalter.

    wonderful.

arriola has the most minutes of any player under berhalter (wtf)....and this far superior player is left out in the cold.

    i dont blame him.

I don't think the problem here is that Sabbi is not playing for the USMNT, but that he has not been approached at all the past two years, despite of doing quite well. Perhaps you could argue that OB Odense was a bit too small a jump from Hobro, but on the other hand his former team-mate at club level and for the U-23 NT, Cappis, at least has been called up, while they do not seem to care at all about Sabbi in any way, no matter how well he has been doing, and he has been quite more noticeable for Odense than Cappis has been for Brøndby so far.

Agreed, I am more upset that they aren’t keeping in contact with him. Maybe he can get a January camp call up, if we are still doing those.

Well now being confronted by Campo.dk and with him deliberately reaching out to Ghana (which surely will not go unnoticed), they will now have to do something, or nothing at all, and so leaving it up to Ghana.
