Before Bello even goes back to the oven those ingredients need to be adjusted — a little pinch of positional awareness, 1/2 cup of better passing, and 2 cups of decision making should do it.
Back soon: Former Colorado Rapids LB Sam Vines is potentially in line to make his first appearance back from a broken collarbone for Royal Antwerp... against former LAFC winger Diego Ross and Fenerbahce in the Europa League at 1245et today— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) October 21, 2021

Vines standing next to his mark, Ozil, who is now with Fenerbache - times have changed. CBS game call: "Ozil.....can't get away from the challenge" (of Antwerp's #21 who happens to be one Vines). Vines seems solid.
Vines has flashed some skill, perhaps a couple of reckless runs out of his own end. However, Fenerbahce just went up 2-1 on a questionable penalty call. Second penalty for Fenerbahce, but Enner Valencia put the first one off the crossbar before making this one. Neither PK against Vines. Antwerp down 2-1.
"Creeping up the ladder: Sam Vines at Antwerp" "Jeepers Creepers: Sam Vines at Antwerp". Vines getting confidence of his teammates gets the pass to play out of the back and does it well. Game call is effusive..have to say he seems to know what he is doing. "Vines intercepts again...." "Some really good football being played here tonight..." Then Antwerp give up yet another pk - to Enner Valencia, again.
Game call: "Brilliant by Vines there...." as he picks his mark and shows some good footwork, An "all touches" by Vines in this game would be worth it because Fenerbache have a lot of talented players and Vines did a pretty good job.
Vines gets the start in a big matchup vs Club Brugge. With a win Royal could move into second in the table, leapfrogging Club Brugge. The match is on ESPN+ for those interested.

Opens his account. ⚽️Lyle Foster (21) scored his first goal for @KVCWesterlo this evening in their 🇧🇪 Belgium Cup Round of 32 victory. The South African striker netted the second goal as they beat top-flight outfit Royal Antwerp 2-1.🇿🇦 #SAPlayersAbroad pic.twitter.com/mF1BiDtYYY— Lorenz Köhler (@Lorenz_KO) October 28, 2021 Pardon the interruption from South Africans abroad, but this says that they lost 2-1 as this dude scored. A horrible match report I saw makes it look like Vines didn't play, but I'm not certain of that.
What's up with the blood gushing from that dude's shoulder? Doesn't seem like he should be playing a match in that condition. (cue a Monty Python clip)

Watching this now. Vines does a poor job closing down De Ridder on the right wing, failing to challenge the cross to an open Hayashi just inside the box. No one guarded Hayashi either, and he finished for STVV's first goal.
STVV's second goal came on a counterattack. Vines was a mix of hung out to dry and completely ineffective in his attempt to slow it down.
Antwerp score in the 82nd to close it to 2-1, and Durkin subbed on in the 84th to make it a yank v yank match (also to try to control the ball a little bit to hold the lead).
Had a bad giveaway that started the sequence for Eintracht's first goal. Later he had a teammate shouting at him for a mixup on a passing move. 2-2 draw and Sam goes 90 (as does Timmy Chandler for Eintracht).
