This is just too stupid by LvG!!! Klaassen go injured on the last set of Internationals and should not be starting today. Agree with @BaritoPutra about both Malacia starting and sitting out Van Dijk.

Drommel sent to the stands for disciplinary reasons.
Allegedly slept in for training yesterday

I am detecting a pattern. He slept in goal too in last PSV match… lol :p

I was expecting a tough competition between Bijlow and Drommel for Oranje no. 1 at the beginning of the season, but a couple months in, Bijlow is having a massive head start.

Norway - Montenegro and Latvia - Turkey both still 0-0. I have a feeling one of those two teams will lose points today, let's hope so.

Couldn’t watch the whole first half but Wijnaldum really shouldn’t be starting for the NT anymore from what I’ve seen. It also goes against van Gaal’s playing time rule. Having credit with a coach doesn’t make a player develop match fitness instantaneously.

Unless it’s a Robben, who had the ability to hit the ground running right after a period of injury than we shouldn’t field these players.

Memphis did not want FDB’s record, missing 2 PK in the same match. This is not a good test. Let’s rest some players in 2nd half and see what Malacia, Danjuma, Koop, Malen, Weghorst or De Ligt can do.

I like what Danjuma and Lang can bring even though this is a small sample vs very weak opponent.

Danjumaaaaa. It’s only Gibraltar, but that’s a neat finish. He’s here to stay baby. Wilson called it, I called. Some others were hating the mention of his name… ;)

Danjuma clearly has better speed than Gakpo.

I really wanna see what he can do against top countries

Norway kept up the pressure... Turkey kept their hopes alive, with a winning goal on 90(+9) minutes

2 matches remaining in this qualifier!! Obviously winning the two matches next month should be the aim... but if my 3rd-grade level math is correct, even with 2 draws, I believe Oranje will still qualify as the table-topper, thanks to the massive GD. The key is not to lose to Norway in De Kuip.

Yes, two draws will send them to Qatar. However, if they cannot win both those matches they don't deserve to go.

this was on the cards all along. both Land and Danjuama should have gone to euros as well. Lang two games, Danjuma 1 game, the dust settles. Berghuis out

and the critics were saying danjuma needs to be play consistently till November to get a call up including Van Gaal.

My projection for 2024 and 2026, all thumps up.:cool:

they wont loss if danjuma and Lang starts along side Depay. the workload on Depay will now shift now and this is important. imagine the threat now from left right and centre. it easy, contain Haaland, Norway is done

I am not counting the chicken before they hatch… easier said than done to silent Haaland (if healthy). This Oranje team is incredibly inconsistent (e.g. hammered Turkey, then struggled mightily to push Latvia away). Norway OTOH will be well-motivated and all-out knowing W is the sure way to qualify, and Turkey are breathing down their neck to steal the second (playoff) spot.

I think match like this will define the Oranje team’s identity and character. They pass the first “real” test v. Turkey, can they repeat?!?

Also… it’d interesting LVG’s team management vs. Montenegro. Virgil is one YC away from suspension… will he be “rested” for the Norway match?

I’d rest Virgil vs Montenegro. We still have a certain de Ligt who people seem to be underrating all of a sudden. He’d walk into the starting line-ups of most NT’s.

Also, the inconsistency might have been because of the missing piece that is solid wing-play and shared load of creativity upfront. With Danjuma and Lang the creative workload is taken off Depay’s shoulder and shared with them. Due to their trickery and pace it also frees up space for Depay.

Also, I’d still put Berghuis in midfield for some added creativity together with Frenkie and Koopmeiners or Gravenberch.

This team has potential. Van Gaal just needs to drop this whole “Berghuis is the only RW option” nonsense.
