Gotta love how after playing 1.5 good halves because Gregg's hand was basically forced to put more attacking on the field, he immediately returns to going for the 0-0 tie.
Extremely uninspiring. Lack of passion, missing man in the middle, no shots on goal. A couple of points/thoughts. 1 - Panama didn't score, we did. And when they were on target, they were stopped. 2 - Panama is doing what they need to do, and it is reflected in the table. They beat us at home, and drew both Costa Rica and Mexico at home. They are also coming off a WC qualification. It looks like they will be difficult at home. I would guess this will be different when they go on the road. This was shit performance by us, and we should have won on paper, but Panama are proving to very tough to beat at home.
Would it have mattered if there'd been four more minutes? Mercy rule. Frankly, cuts in our favor so that we didn't get passed by Panama on GD
Exactamundo. Fortunate that Panama didn't put GGG and his MLSers out of their misery early. Missing 2 best players + MLS midfield = Panama dominance. CR is a much better team than Panama...uh oh.
Should we root for Mexico right now? They are currently up one goal and up one man (Honduras player was just red carded). We don’t want Honduras to get any points, yea?
100%... I didn’t mind some rotation... but I want to say I was pushing for: ———————Pepi———————- Aaronson———————Arriola/Weah ————Musah———Lletget———— ———————Adams——————— Bello————————————-Yedlin ————-Miles———-Zimmerman—— ———————Turner———————- Looking back... I hate that I was advocating for Lletget now. But still, what you see from my XI is that you see more of the same. I love roster rotation as much as anyone. Everyone knows I like depth analysis. But c’mon! This is a World Cup qualifier... we’re already missing our two key players. We needed some continuity.
This one really did feel like an MLS quota match. Not that Farke (Sargent's manager) would know, but he said Sargent was staying in England because the US wanted to use their domestic guys more this window. Not sure if that was just a guess (there are obviously some Euros here and Sargent doesn't much deserve to be on the squad) but it had me thinking tonight...
A lot of poor performances, but our outside back play was so poor, especially up field...really killed us. That line up was too thin to begin with for a stalemate...and with that most of the team under performed their already low-mid level. Really bit GB in the ass...letting in a garbage goal with that line up... you're dead.
Adams was alright but he was playing catch up. Aaronson hustled too. Turner kept it close. But Zimmerman was the only player who impressed tonight.
Only now are you guys realizing guys like Lleget, Acosta, Arriola, and Zardes are garbage. Fans like you putting no pressure on US soccer are part of the problem.
Hate to break it to all the Berhalter haters but we are going to qualify with him in charge and he’s going to coach us in the World Cup. There’s no easy way to manage minutes with 3 games in 6 days. That said, Gregg’s gambles didn’t pay off and that’s on him.
I really don't understand how, regardless of who's playing, we continue to generate very few scoring chances. I think Pepi's shot wide was the closest we came to scoring.
i am not a berhaters hater...i just hate uselessly stupid leadership. soo much of it throughout human history...as well as usmnt history.... and i wouldnt be so sure...he can still mess this up more.
there is NO CREATIVITY in midfield. adams is not creating goals. good def mid but thats it. llletget and acosta are not creating ANYTHING. arriola is not creating anything. zardes cannot create anything other than a deflection/lucky goal. where do you expect goals to come from from this bunch? they are not coming gold cup was so lucky.
Yeah, I admire the speed if not necessarily the accuracy of the edit. some Panamanian techie was ready to go there.
I know what you mean, but refusing to play young players like Hoppe, who could very well be among our most talented players and potentially close to the quality of Pulisic and Reyna if properly developed, is gross mismanagement by Berhalter. Not calling in Scally was also egregious, and watching guys like Bello, Moore, and Acosta play poorly tonight shows what a mistake it was (by Berhalter of course) to not call in additional talented depth for this window.
