Any chance of losing Frimpong to Ghana or England?

I have been following Leverkusen for a while now and though he has been electrifying form for them, Rensch selection in last call up shows that the jury are in favour of him to be next in the line than Frimpong. I just hope they get it right here. The guy is only 20, imagine what will happen when he hits that 23-25 mark. A lot of big teams will be knocking on his door.

I recently read that he plays for Oranje only.
    He’s been in tremendous form.

He is not very good these days and despite being the PSV captain, often subbed out in the 2nd half. He brings nothing to the team that the existing MFs that LvG has selected.

3 points is all that matters but the performance shows what needs to happen for greater success.

As expected Latvia clogged the MF on a questionable pitch, and Oranje tempo was generally much too slow.

Tactics for this negative opponent should be play with pace and speed, but Van Gaal does not make the proper choices in the first XI.

Oranje attack is based on Memphis with ball, or playing down the right with Dumfries, and even the slow Daley Blind trying to probe from LB.

Midfield buildup is generally not their method of attack especially as Frenkie does not play enough in advanced positions, and that needs to change.

Same old Berghuis out on right with no dynamic speed just cutting inside pisses me off.
That said he has played very well for Ajax as the 10, but obviously that is different to Oranje.

Oranje #10 is really Memphis who showed today the Memphis we don’t like, cutting inside, dropping into MF, slow in possession, too many touches, etc., just annoying.

Amazing Klaassen started and scores again with a quality strike, but he is really not a midfield playmaker and just lacks overall quality.

Gus Til is simply not good enough or athletic enough, and lacks the dynamic ability to play at this level end of story.

Frenkie needs to get further forward like I have said many times before. His dribbling and combinations are at another level and need to be utilized as much as possible.

Gravenberch form has dipped some this season from what I have seen, and has been openly criticized by Van Basten which in my opinion brings doubts about him in Van Gaal’s thought process, but he really should have played over Til in my opinion from the start.

He gets way too much abuse for my liking, but Wijnaldum was missed, and he generally comes up with the goals for Oranje. His ability to run and get into the box was clearly absent. He also wins the ball and holds it better then most. He is certainly a much better all around player then Klaassen and Til all day every day.

Last night would have been great to see Koop & Frenkie involved together.

Malacia and speed was needed last night, but we get the favorite Blind. Have I mentioned he is slow and cannot move very well?

Nothing to say about Virgil and De Vrij other then they need to stay alert and mentally focused at all times.

I’m really hoping for Gakpo and Noa Lang to fire on all cylinders as they bring some quality ability to Oranje. The same goes for the unchosen Danjuma who is tearing it up with Villarreal.

These players have that extra dynamic ability that is necessary for success in international football.

Bijlow has probably cemented his #1 status in only 4 Caps, but I am very curious to see Flekken and even Drommel’s development.

Need to put the hammer down on Gibraltar Monday night.

How much more does Klaassen have to do to prove he's our #1 starter in MF?? He has 4 goals in his last 9 matches, and has provided some nice passes and assists as well.

Overall he now has 8 goals in 28 Oranje matches, thats a lot better ratio than Sneijder had.

Klaassen should be our indisputed starting MF'er for Oranje going all the way into WC2022

Let’s hope to see some experiments against a poor Gibraltar side…

First and foremost, LVG needs to come up with a creative solution in midfield. I’ve been beating the dead horse… but here’s again: Koopmeiners at the base (DM), allowing Frenkie to push further up. Wijnaldum will be back from suspension. So Teun + Frenkie + Gini is my preferred starting midfield trio.

If/when Koopmeiners is not effective… drop Frenkie back to the center circle, but add another playmaker in Berghuis as the CAM. Let’s see if he can have success executing combo plays with Memphis and the wingers.

Second, get proper wide players from back to front… Those who stick by the sideline (not overcrowding the center) and can push forward to the penalty box. Need players with speed to beat defenders and ability to deliver crosses. On the left, Malacia and Gakpo. On the right, Dumfries and Lang/Malen.

    Go Oranje!

Another one Ghana will miss out on. But England might be taking a look too. Tripper is getting old and TAA has not been as excellent lately.

I hope not. England has so many good RB's, and Frimpong has said he feels dutch and wants to represent oranje. I was really irritated how long he got ignored by jong oranje, glad to see he is finally incorporated now. Honestly should be above Rensch in the pecking order for RB in the big oranje too.

He might still have Malen ahead of him though.
But since we're playing Gibraltar I hope LvG gives him 45 minutes regardless

Sorry I totally disagree with you.

    #1 Midfielder? Really?

Not over Frenkie, Wijnaldum, Gravenberch, or Koopmeiners for me.

Granted Klaassen had the game of his life against Turkey but up until then has done very little.

He’s not a great distributor, or very technical, and is not even starting at Ajax at this moment losing his position to Berghuis.

Career has been average at best.

Ok at Ajax, Failure at Everton and slightly better at Werder Bremen.

Your crazy to mention Klaassen in the same breath as Sneijder.

    Mikos Gouka 08-10-21, 23:01 Laatste update: 08-10-21, 23:07

nothing. He is only good at popping up at the right place at the right time vs average teams. He wont get that opportunity vs the big guns or at SF or final stage.
Unfortunately thats how it is and we need to pass on this WC for the next one and hope simons can hit the ground rolling by then. Ihattaren maybe. Who else is there. Eiting, have being reading good things about him.

Funny way to spell Van Der Beek . I really hope he gets a loan deal in January and storms his way back onto the side. He is no Sneijder or even RVDV but he does have the ability to get free and make a smart pass.

I support moving Frenkie a bit up front with Gino or Klassen, with Koop sitting deep. Frenkie has been restrained too deep which limits his involvement in attack. Again, couldn't we dispense with Memphis? He is way way overrated, ineffective and dictatorial in play. He could only score against minnow and only occasionally. I am totally fed up with this guy. When I look back at how Robin van Persie's played, I am so sad to realize our best strikers are gone and the next is unknown.

Yes I think he's our #1 midfielder right now!

You bring up Frenkie and Gigi, even though neither of them really play Davy's position. And regardless of the fact that Klaassen is not starting @ Ajax right now, he's earned every minute of his starting job in Oranje right now.

And now that you bring that up, I hope Ten Hag's "experiment" with Berghuis in CM ends soon, because I'd much rather have Davy starting ahead of him (Yes I know thats controversial, but I dont care).

And it matters NOTHING if he failed at Everton or Werder Bremen, he's been brilliant for Oranje!!
