    You're thinking of McKennie...

Or maybe CP needs to follow Wes' lead.

Everyone does this... it's just tribalism, being interested in their guy that they think moves the needle for their audience. That exists everywhere.

drives me ********ing nuts. they also call everything between an amputation and a rolled ankle a "strain", how precise.

A slow healer? His injury is is one that typically takes 3-4 weeks to heal. Hasn't it been less than four weeks at this point?

With 79 games for Chelsea, he's scored 18 goals with providing 14 assists.

As a Liverpool supporter, the third goal is my favorite :D

23 days but who's counting? Ankles are tricky and you have to let everything heal or you can wind up with longer term problems.

    precisely ...

    23 days ...

    again - Grade 1 sprain is 2 - 3 weeks to recover.

    Grade 2 is 4 - 6 weeks.

It was not grade 3 (nothing was torn/fractured ...)

    so could be 2 - 6 weeks.

Most important point is good rehab to stop this from happening again (non contact left ankle sprain) ...

Super-sub is a good role for him: less chance of getting injured, and he can dribble around the tired legs. It even has hero potential.

I suppose it depends on your point of view, but at least he's getting on the field!

That's definitely a glass half full approach.

    Glass 15 minutes full!

Tbh, though, if you told me a few years ago that in 2021 I'd be complaining about Wes "only" getting 15 minutes in a Champ League game against Chelsea, I'd probably beg to differ.

Pulisic has another 2 weeks to heal. Surely that is enough time? Othewise,
I'd think he needs an operation.

Chelsea's next 8 games are against really weak teams. And Chelsea is playing
them over a 4 week period- 2 games a week- so Tuchel will have to rotate and
    use his full squad.

Great, great situation for Christian to re-integrate in the squad. The forward line continues
to be mostly 'meh'. Christian will get his chances for sure over the next 8 games to
prove he is a difference maker and put himself in line for starting against larger clubs/important games later in the season.

These 8 opponents are really those he should be able to generate goals & assists against.

Really up to him (on the field) and his health now. The table is set very well for him- no complaints.

Werner scores to win the match today... he's had an incredibly unlucky run, but has taken up really good positions playing off Lukaku during this match.

He scored an early header which was taken away by VAR, the keeper made a great one handed save to deny him, but he finally gets a strikers goal by popping up ahead of Lukaku to get on the end of a great first-time Azpi cross.

Mount coming on really changed the match (even before the red card) .... his energy and quick ball movement helped.

biggest take away from today's game for me was Loftus Cheek, Odoi, Barkley and Mount ....

Havertz and Ziyech glued to the bench ... why spend that amount of money on those two if you are not going to use them but bring back (Barkley and Loftus Cheek) two players that have been out on loan.

For all the concerns about Tuchel and Werner - Werner looked good today.

ChelseaTV had an interview with Tuchel where he's asked about Puli:

    https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2...and-reacts-to-conte-comment-abo?cardIndex=0-0

    2:15

Interviewer: "You mention Christian, how is he progressing at the moment?"

Tuchel: "Not so good... he's still in a lot of pain that he has to get used to and and it's too much pain to start training with us so he's still in the individual rehabilitation."

Something may be lost because Tuchel may be thinking in German, but what does he mean by saying that Pulisic has to get used to the pain? Does he have something chronic that just won't go away?

"Not so good," is easily understood, leaves little in the way of wiggle room and requires almost no interpretation.

Sounds like it was more serious sprain than initially diagnosed. Definitely disappointing news.

Did you notice how no one celebrated him on the first (disallowed) goal? It was odd. On the second, only after Azpi went out of his way to embrace him did the rest of the team follow up. I wonder if he’s not particularly liked.

Funny that you say that, I almost posted something as well. I definitely noticed Lukau definitely didn’t make any attempt to celebrate with him on that first goal that was ultimately ruled offsides.

honestly it’s about as bad as it looked when it happened and not as good as the optimistic takes after he got back to chelsea
