Is there a cheaper alternative to VAR? Like a tablet with recording from the game and just rewind a little and see it from slow mo because we as the audience can see it from there. Just like right now recording that Man-Spurs game and saw the hand ball.

    https://shekicks.net/fawsl-record-1-5-million-tuned-in-for-opening-weekend/

The opening weekend’s fixtures in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League achieved a record number of 1.5 million viewers.

The first weekend of the Barclays FA WSL campaign saw three matches screened live across the two broadcasters, with a significant peak audience tuning in for Manchester United v Reading (366,000) and Arsenal v Chelsea (311,000) on Sky Sports and Sky Showcase, and Everton v Manchester City (800,000) on BBC One.

In addition, a peak audience of over one million tuned into the first Women’s Football Show of the season, which was broadcast on BBC One.

Steph Houghton is out with injury, sucks for Man City. Who is going to replace her for awhile?

At City of for England. England have many options. City have more problems as Esme Morgan just got injured too.
City have Kennedy, Greenwood, Mace so still three centre-backs available.

Looks like they will have to change formation with 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2.

I think they will play as follows:
Benameur in goal and then a back four of Stanway/Beckie, Kennedy, Greenwood, Stokes.
Stanway and Beckie have been used at right-back many times by City.

A bit of a rant about Chelsea vs Man United:

I understand a lot of fans who wanted Ladd to start vs Chelsea; I also wanted that. I don't understand fans still pushing that opinion after the match and saying she would have made a difference though. She didn't cover herself in glory on Spence's goal, and she didn't look like the elite shield for the back 4 that so many say she is on the buildup to Fleming's goal. The counter argument I've seen for that is things would have been different at 0-0, but I just don't agree with that. I'm still all for Ladd starting vs Birmingham, but people not recognizing how Ladd didn't help things defensively in this particular match is a bit peculiar to me.

A lot of people also wanted Boe Risa to start or get a lot of more minutes, and again, I did/do too. However, I struggle to see how she would have made much of a difference in this match. She had a pretty good preseason, but she also got dispossessed for a goal vs Liverpool and got bypassed at times vs Reading. I wouldn't have been surprised to see her have some struggles against Chelsea's press. Maybe she would have helped with better passing vs Chelsea, but it's not like she was particularly impactful in that department in my opinion vs Reading.

Overall, I just think any player in United's defense and midfield would have had poor moments/giveaways vs Chelsea given how the match played out. Stick the forwards there, and they would have all likely gifted the ball away at some point. Russo did on the last goal, and Galton maybe did on Kerr's offside goal. (Seriously, they couldn't show a full replay of the buildup to that goal after it happened, and was Bright's shot really so good that it warranted a full replay?)

I think Man City is in deep trouble. And Gareth won’t bring in and academy players to help the roster wtf?

Taylor has also confirmed he will not be calling upon any youth players to feature in tonight's FA Cup clash against Leicester.

"Our academy players are not even training close to our programme, so it’s very difficult to kind of thrust someone in at short notice, so we’ll go with what we have and we’ll make the best of it," he said.

    Manchester City 6 Leicester 0
    Birmingham 0 Chelsea 4
    Arsenal 5 Tottenham 1
    Brighton 1 Charlton 0

Leicester will never have a better chance to beat City who played a back four of
Beckie, Scott, Greenwood and Stanway. They player a striker at right-back, a box to box player at centre-back and a playmaker at left-back and Leicester still lost 6-0. :ROFLMAO:

The draw was made after the games and it is
    Man City v Chelsea
    Arsenal v Tottenham

Games played to be played 30/31 October

Bunny Shaw with a hat trick. I'm curious to know how Taylor will play her going forward. She's been used mainly as a sub before yesterday--came on late against Arsenal. She's a force, but must adjust to a new league, new team, new coach--and meanwhile the talented Ellen White plays the same CF position. I didn't see this game--and when I first wrote this post--about an hour ago--I'd assumed that Shaw was a 1 for 1 sub for White. But I just saw one highlight clip from the game and both Shaw and White were on the field together, so Taylor perhaps does have ideas about how to use them in tandem. We'll know more in the Chelsea game, for sure.

I would have the two forwards White and Shaw in at the same time. 4-4-2 formation.

Who would play next to Walsh (when she's fully fit) at CM for you?

Have to see who’s available but I’m thinking Coombs.

Interesting. I was originally thinking of giving two options between Losada and Weir, but I thought you might go with Coombs. I think it'd be bold to not start either Weir or Losada, but fair enough. So, Hemp on the left and Beckie on the right? (Don't know Raso's injury status.) Or could Weir on the left and Hemp as an inverted winger on the right (or vice versa) be a possibility?

Losada is good choice. Think Weir was hurt. Raso had shoulder injury.

    1) Blundell providing what United have lacked their previous two WSL seasons - high quality chance creation from the full back area. Two great assists on low crosses.
    2) It really looks like Groenen is cursed in a United jersey. Including the spin move to open up space, that was arguably a better effort than her goal vs Iceland. The ball ended up inches wide of the post though. Equally good throughball for Toone to potentially make it 3-0, but Toone couldn't round Ramsey.

    Table

City out of the title race already. Reading, Leicester and Birmingham in big trouble. Spurs with 12 out of 12 possible points is amazing. I mean they lost 5-1 to Arsenal in midweek.

Of the six games, half were 2-0, there was a 3-0, a 4-0 and a 3-1. The winners bagged 16, the losers 1.

Can't remember who is the big Bunny Shaw supporter here....? She got a half hour but got the same nada Ellen White did when Man City took the smackdown from WHU yesterday.

Lisa Evans featured in the first two games for West Ham without a win, but did not see the field in the next two which were wins. Probably an injury as not even listed amongst the subs.

Spurs tied atop the table at 4-0 have played the bottom four teams in the table - 9, 10, 11 and 12.
