Well I've just gotta bring up the excellent PL Review Show again...

I wasn't able to watch any matches live this past weekend, due to travel. So I figured "no problem, I'll just do what I used to do years ago and watch the 1-hour PL Rvw Show.

So I went searching for it on Peacock, and nothing found. Huh? Did NBC stop paying for it, or just decide to skip it for some reason?

instead the only thing I found was a 2-hour Extended Highlights show, at least half of which was dedicated to studio-talking-heads, which I had to fast-forward through.

    Sigh.

This YTTV/NBC dispute is concerning. Hoping they get it resolved before the weekend, but it looks serious. Would probably have to pause membership as 95% of what I watch is on NBCSN and regional networks.

    Yup.
They get a bunch of Champions League matches due to Univision channels but lose a bunch of Premier League matches days later.

Oh the roller coaster ride of services.

If you pause, can you sign up for Hulu, Fubo, DirecTV Stream or whatever else is out there?

Dumb question.....not sure if anyone knows....but is Premier League still pumping in fake crows noises even though stadiums are back full? Some of the reaction sounds seem off and unnatural during this Liverpool v Manchester City game.

Was it just me or does anyone else have an issue with Peacock Premium not having the Man City v Burnley replay available?

I use the Roku app and that match does not appear as a choice.

On my phone the game isn’t listed under matchweek 8 replays but if you search for Burnley or Manchester City you can find and watch it. Haven’t checked on my roku.

David Ornstein has become NBC's "PL Insider" aka gossip pundit. I've never had too much against him in the past, but that was from reading his tweets, etc. However when he's on TV he's so overly self-centered. He's constantly saying "I broke that news" like he's insecure and desperately needs to prove himself or get recognition due. If he has an agent, they might wanna tell him to tone that down. It's a big turn off... IMHO.

Can someone explain why Telemundo isn't playing the Jamaica v. USA match? All they are showing during the window is local news (and putting the match on Universo).

Wouldn't it make more sense to keep JAM-USA on Telemundo, break for an hour of Rumba el Mundial & pregame in advance of the Mexico v. Canada match?

With the English match on Paramount+ and Spanish-speaking Mexico fans having an interest in the JAM-USA match, it seems like a no-brainer to have that whole block programmed together on the OTA Telemundo.

According to the football.london, the Premier League expects the final bids (second round presumably) from NBC and ESPN by tomorrow night. The football news outlet heard that CBS dropped out the bidding process. Moreover, it believed, leaning from the forecasters, that the final bid could be worth around $2 billion (or £1.48 billion).

    Here's the weblink below:

A new twist in the aftermath of the "bidding process for the Premier League TV rights in USA" saga for which it was totally unexpected.

I'm generally thankful that NBC was awarded the deal. They've got proven quality, even if Ms. Lowe ends up leaving, which I pretty much assume she will in the coming months/years.

My biggest concern is how well they manage the evident shift from TV channels to Peacock digital. Is NBCSN really and truly going to go poof soon? (for me and some others I've heard, that will be a sad day)

There have been some rough spots in how their coverage is produced on Peacock, how easy it is use, etc, etc. So I pray that they somehow focus on improving those shortcomings, really listen to end-user feedback, and recreate the excellence that they have delivered over conventional TV for so many years.

Everything I've heard (public, reliable sources) say NBCSN goes away on 12/31.

USA basically just plays syndicated dramas on weekend mornings right? It should be easy for them to hopefully just dedicate the entire morning to EPL matches and studio programs.
Hopefully they go that route with secondary matches on peacock. No peacock only windows! I miss the one stop destination of the NBCSN early days.
I'm sure the coverage will be much choppier than it needs to be so they can push peacock, but here's hoping it won't be!

God that would be great (if they just made USA the new NBCSN on weekend mornings) but I seriously doubt it.

p.s. Just about every weekday at 11am they show SkySportsNews on NBCSN. I DVR that and skim through it most nights. That's gotta be a goner in 2022. :(

Good point! But I wouldn't necessarily expect to see much of that on USA either.

I have Peacock primarily for EPL, and I sometimes watch shows now on it (with Ads). Is it safe to assume that if they shove TdF onto Peacock, I'll be able to watch it there too without any upgrade in my Peacock subscription? I.e. no more returning to those days when NBC would charge you separate fees for Gold footy vs Gold cycling?

There are 3 games listed in 4K in the Fubo guide for this weekend rather than the typical 1 (Leicester-Chelsea, City-Everton, Spurs-Leeds). Hope this continues going forward. Also surprising that Liverpool-Arsenal wasn’t picked for 4K. You’d think that would be the choice if there was only one, let alone three.

Nevermind. It looks like these additional games were a lie of the guide which were erased.

Watching MCI-WHU on Peacock, I hope this isn’t what we are to expect once they retire NBCSN…

No halftime show/review by NBC, just some canned highlights from the world feed, without analysis. And some riveting remembrance of Matt LeTissier. :p

Come on NBC. Surely you saved some money for production, after the huge new rights contract you just ponied up for!

Ps. IDK what/who caused this but in 2T whenever I pressed rewind in order to go back a few seconds to rewatch something, it jumped all the way back to the 1:59:00 mark in the stream. Then I had to fast forward really quickly and try to pinpoint the minute/second where I wanted to start watching again.

Terribly annoying GUI bug. Not sure if the responsibility lies with NBC, or the Peacock app writers, or my Roku, or something else.

I just know that that problem has never happened in 20+ years of using my trusty DVR’s.
