No, it's not their decision. You the player could get on crutches and limp onto a plane. The team can put pressure on a player, talk to them , threaten them. FIFA can also do likewise. They can threaten the club, punish the club. It usually doesn't come to that in either case.

Love them both but Aaronson can't take people on like Pulisic. Just not his game.

Although, I believe the player has the right to say no.

    Here's the rule:

A player who due to injury or illness is unable to comply with a call-up from the association that he is eligible to represent on the basis of his nationality shall, if the association so requires, agree to undergo a medical examination by a doctor of that association’s choice. If the player so wishes, such medical examination shall take place on the territory of the association at which he is registered.

I mean I don’t think Renya or the US should pick a fight with Dortmund if he’s not fully the healthy. The question is more what to do in a situation where he’s fully recovered from the injury but he hasn’t played any matches with Dortmund and doesn’t have his fitness.

Any news on whether he’s training or the nature of the injury?

Looks like Rose in playing a 4-4-2 diamond formation with mahlen and Haaland up top. Where do you guys see Reyna n this formation?

One of the side midfielders or the tip of the diamond

Or try him at one of the forward positions. He is still growing in strength as he matures.

Yeah, I can see him as a support striker along side Haaland. i think Reus will stay in the top pf the diamond though.

I think of Reyna as similar to Reus

I think his versatility in this formation means he will see the field a lot. He can play alongside Bellingham, he can play in Reus’ spot or he can play next to Haaland which allows for he and Reus to change roles throughout the game.

Before he was hurt he’d been playing as one of the 8s alongside Bellingham

Yes, Reus is blocking him from his best position. But Reus could probably totally stink for months before they would replace him in that spot with Reyna, Reus is too big a club legend.

Too bad for our boy, he will just have to wait.

I believe at the beginning of last year he was in Reus' spot and he was super productive first few games... but then he got moved out of it.

Odd times where Reyna's thread has fallen to the fifth page. We spoiled.

    Any updates on his return?

No, I don't think so. Reuss plays well from the front which Haaland needs while Reyna plays best from a slightly recessed position - which Haaland also needs !

Reyna will get better/consistent with more playing time.

I haven't heard a date, but on US of Soccer today they said he won't be ready for October qualifiers. I think that was pretty much expected from the original timeline from BVB where they said he'd be out until after the next international window.

Not that I've heard. But if he doesn't play until the break I don't think he should come in.

Pretty sure he played in Reus spot and played really well in 2 of 3 first games. But then he hit a major funk and they switched him to another position and put Reus
    back in his old position.

Regardless, I still think it remains to be seen if Reyna is better as a forward playing midfielder or recessed. Yes, he passes well from deep but he also has a great shot and plays well in combination with Haaland near box so tough call. I am pretty convinced that winger is not at all his best position, but he is serviceable there.

Sure I agree. I know there was hope he’d be ready last weekend but it didn’t happen.
