Not a drop. I am just an optimistic realist who expects my club to win every match. Of course I am often disappointed. I think the CL field is pretty open this year. There is no team without flaws. Heck, ManCity drew against Southampton today.

It was well known and there were articles about him not getting along with EtH. He freelanced too much and would not track back on defense. He got into a shouting match with EtH and was sent back to Jong Ajax for a couple of weeks. Ultimately, EtH and Overmars decided that it just would not work out. As I've noted, it's too bad as he really is talented.

  6. Overmars could have sacked Eric ten Hag instead:)

Okay, so I also heard a lot of bad stuff about Neres, but not nearly as much about Noa.

I still think (going by how good he's performing for Brugge) Ajax dropped the wrong player

Our group is certainly pretty open. I'd be surprised if we didn't win and especially surprised if we didn't go through.

I think it'll be tough for Ajax to win the group. Dortmund isn't playing well but have loads of talent. Haaland might be the most dangerous player in the world right now.

I think we should get through though rather easily. As long as we beat Sporting/Besiktas in Amsterdam, it should be easy.

When is Onana's suspension over? November? We desperately need him in CL and against good Eredivisie teams. Pasveer is just totally out of his element at this level.

The other potential free agent is Mazraoui. I hope we can extend him, he's been outstanding this year. Also appreciate how much ten Hag is resting him.

RB in general is loaded. Selling Dest for 20m (with how bad he's looking again today) looks like another Overmars masterclass.

I highly doubt we'll ever see Onana in an Ajax shirt again

If we had a decent GK, I would agree.

However, the position is a downright disaster. We are talking the difference between progressing in CL and winning the league could be Andre. Tens of millions of Euro's on the line.

He was at the match this weekend and seems like they're letting him back into the team. I think he will play unless Steklenberg comes back and looks great.

Management has made it clear. If Onana does not sign a contract extension, he does not play. Inter Milan has been mentioned as a possible destination as they are dissatisfied with their 37 year old keeper. there is no question that both of our ancient keepers are not up to the task. I predict Gorter becomes first choice keeper at some point this year.

  14. I still can't believe they didnot pick up Marsman for free. He for sure wouldnot have gone to Inter Miami for adventure if he could have played CL football.
I'm still pissed he left, but I guess the money is better than Feyenoord paid and it was the chance for an abroad adventure.

Dortmund have a lot of attacking talent but seem to be pretty porous defensively. I could see our matches with them being fairly high-scoring.

Shame to see Dest's form suffering as I've always liked him.

  16. What did Dest do?

    He was terrible again yesterday

  18. Well, the delusional Yanks, who declared Dumfries to be miles behind Dest in quality, while Dest just played about two Ajax matches, and the Dutch were clamouring for him to choose the Orange Squad, should read the Italian papers writing about Dumfries atm.
The yank guy, who quoted my post of two years ago about Dest being at least two years from being considered, with the message we now for sure are wanting him, must be pleased with Dest performing as expected:ROFLMAO:

  19. By the way, the Yanks don't agree with you. Post of today:

Mazraoui is superior to Dest and his injury made it possible to sell Dest for big bucks.

Guys, please keep on topic in this thread. I don't care if you want to mess up other threads with irrelevant things but this one is for this season's Ajax team and NOT for ex-Ajax players and their performance. I will start deleting stuff like this in the future. I'm just getting tired of Moderating all this off topic stuff. Create another thread if you want.

I've watched most of Dortmund's matches this year and their defense is not just porus but awful. Their keeper is not particularly good either.

It's a shame because Haaland is a real talent.

  23. Seems like Dortmund only objective is to be a seller club. They got the resourches to form a very good team, but seem content to play secnd fiddle behind Bayer with guaranteed CL play.
This opens opportunities for Ajax, if the midfield helps to contain Haaland.

If Freiburg can beat Dirtmund, then so can Ajax
