The stars are aligning for Dest to shine. Now it's all up to him.

Is Dest supposed to start at RB and RW now?

Don’t know, but Dest is still really poor defensively against even the most mediocre opposition.

That sux, though it didn’t look super-severe. Hope it’s a short downtime. Was not a great outing for him otherwise either.

saw on line he is not expected to miss Barca v Seville. Might not play v. Hondo

Unsurprisingly, will not play @ Honduras.

"Sergiño Dest has been diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and will not be available for the game against Honduras. Dest was injured in the 44th minute in the 1-1 draw against Canada."

Per Marca, "Sergino Dest has been ruled out of Barcelona's Champions League group-stage opener against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, September 14, as he still hasn't recovered from an injury he picked up in the international break.
    ....
Sergi Roberto is the most likely to start in Dest's place, with the alternative option being Oscar Mingueza."

    ++++++++++++

Hope one or both get torched in Dest's absence.

No kidding... I was so looking forward to this week and now there is really no point in watching BVB, Chelsea or Barca. What are the chances? Really?

I hope he is not being rushed back. I will not be surprised if he will simply be used as an emergency sub though using Roberto as a RB seems a recipe for disaster against Bayern.

Hw was smart enough to sit down and take off his boot when he realized he was too hurt to play. That can make all the difference in how long it takes to recover.

RB Salzburg, Juve and RB Leipzig too... just a bit miffed that Gio and CP can't contribute... especially the former. Gio got off to such a hot start and BVB is pretty deep up front... I wanted him to lock down that duel 8/10 role and hopefully be moved there for the USMNT in October. Now I don't expect to see him until after the Intl Break.

Roberto against Davies? He would get torched. He is way too slow to play RB now. If Dest can't go then I think they should play Mingueza at RB in a two CB system and keep him back and just let Alba get forward on the left. Mingueza is all that fast but he tackles pretty well. Hard to see how Barca gets a result here... even with Dest in.

He'll get a little bit of rope but it won't be pretty. It is quite the fall for Barcelona.

Gerard Piqué post-match: "It's a bad result, we're not going to lie. It is what it is, we have a lot of youngsters here. It is a very difficult year. They [Bayern] were much better. We have players like Ansu, Ousmane, Kun to all come back and help us."

Getting beat is one thing, but they didn't even try to play. And what the hell did Coutinho do at the club, murder somebody's dog?

Things are setting up nicely for Dest. DNP in the sh!tshow v Bayern, so can't be blamed. Should start Barcelona's next match v Granada (currently 17th of 20). Show well, get right back on track.
