Franco much better than Gaibor. The passing in the midfield got a lot better.

Estrada did really good even though he didn’t score. Really held the ball well up top.

Really like the 3 defensive lineup. So much more secure than previous games. Most talented players are the three in the back.

    That was hella offside wtf!

Caught them sleeping, that should have not been a goal and that goalie sucks ass tbh!I was kind of hoping but having this mediocre goalie there and useless Gaibor ,not to confident, plus as usual the penalties that they don’t call for us in that stadium, this Uruguay team was definitely beatable or at least a tie.

I never want to see Pervis and Pedro Ortiz ever start again.

The back three was solid. Estrada played well. Moises is regaining his form.

Please no more Gaibor or Gruezo.

Is there any chance Ramirez reconsiders his decision to not play for the national team?

Hopefully Mendez recovers in time for the October games. Galindez too.

Next months games against Bolivia and Venezuela are crucial. Anything less than 6 points and we're probably done.

There is basically no hope. We aren’t gonna make it to the WC. Who cares now. We dropped too many points while the other teams gained. We might end up second or third to last.

Yea,but they were breaking up our play,we were making our way in,but each time they blocked our movement with 3 players. They didn’t do much most of the game our D was pretty solid as well, but I’m telling you this Ortiz guy is a failure, let’s bring in Araña.Don’t know what the purpose of bringing Enner was,if we were already committed to the tie,why not bring a defensive mid to hold on for the last 5 min,we simply cannot rely on Pervis in the final minutes,Homie always F up and gives up goals to tie it or win it for the other team.

I’m pissed. What constitutes a red card? They deserved two and if Sornoza got one for a stomp why no the Uruguayan that tackled Plata?

Should have been a penalty on Estrada.

Alfaro’s words ring very hollow tonight- “”conforme con el rendimiento.” Like, really?! What game was he watching in the first half? Ecuador was basically totally dominated and could not string more than 3 passes together before losing the ball for long stretches of the game.

The game is won, tied, and lost with goals…and our side at the moment has a serious problem converting opportunities into goals. We went scoreless against Chile and tonight vs. Uruguay. It took us 88 mins to net the first goal vs Paraguay who almost successfuly parked the bus. Since Matchday 4, we’ve had this problem, and it’s becoming a massive concern…our team is not mentally fit enough to weather these last minute bursts of inspiration…it happened vs. Brazil and Uruguay in the obvious examples…all dropped points with late goals. We wouldn’t be in this mess if we would put one down early. There’s no confidence on this squad and it’s evident they get frustrated. Much of this is a huge issue due to the midfield structure not being able to properly coordinate passes that get fed cleanly up to our forwards and strikers, and we generally just look disorganized. The back 3 is blameless tonight but I’d hold the rest of the team accountable for a general lack of grit, creativity, and intelligence to play smart ball. La garra charrua is a real thing…we’ve lost games to Uruguay on several instances with similar scenarios playing out: relying on ref calls to change the tide of a game that we’ve lost control of. Uruguay played until the very last minute whereas we gave up possession and thought the game ended in the 90th minute. Play until the whistle blows! It’s a shame that we lost out on that critical point. Colombia and Uruguay are hitting a stride in the tournament and we’ve lost the points and momentum edge. We also have only a few home games left.

Alfaro needs to step up and call it like it is…our guys are talented but inexperienced. Our guys lack full match discipline. Lately, our guys have problems scoring and organizing attacks. We rely so much on Plata and he’s getting battered. Guys know he’s an easy target to take out…we risk his whole future to win a game because nobody else is stepping up. He’s a chronic injury risk and yet he’s only one of a few members of that team who is actually trying.

It's all fixed. I can't get over the fact the ref didn't even review the foul on Estrada. They should change the rules regarding VAR. All goals get reviewed automatically. And each coach gets a number of challenges per game. I'd say two. They should also introduce the clock to football. Any stoppage in play and the clock stops.

You know what’s chronic also, referees continually looking the other way when it comes to Uruguay’s penalties and red cards. When does the FEF even attempt to make some noise like everyone else does?not a peep from these guys when it matters, how many games have they won under these same circumstances.I’m not relying on these penalties but the fact that ‘is not an isolated incident anymore,it’s troubling,it goes beyond just saying ,our guys should have scored, these Uruguayan players were intentionally trying to end our players playing life,F that garra BS,that’s just dirty playing and I thought Uruguay was done with this type of play, but since they’re nothing without their 2 star players they have to rely on the same old dirty plays of yesteryear.I never forgot when our guys were playing for our first WC qualifying, and these so called “garra charrua”,players started a fight against our guys in the tunnel right before the second half on the way out to the field, straight up thuggish behavior that they used to intimidate, except now they can’t do it anymore,so they give us a shitty field, their guys whine and get up on the refs place, act out injuries and do everything possible to injure our players.

Be that as it may, it usually happens because we can't score and are fishing ourselves for penalties, cards, etc. to finish out games.

This is not the first time we've straight up lost a match or given up a victory which turns to a draw simply because we're not consistently closing strong. These types of issues have plagued Ecuador for over a decade.

So I’ve been watching English football lately and noticed something that our players lack, they are not physical with the opposition.

We are very light up front and from the few matches I saw, it didn’t matter if the other team was shit but their attackers opened up spaces for the others to attack. It is something which we are not gonna do with Mena, Enner or Estrada. Don’t suggest Caicedo, he’s not going to come back.

Same with our defense….I don’t want to revisit Uruguay’s goal but was it was Pervis who got shrugged off like he wasn’t there.

If you notice the physique of our players, the ones who have historically played in Europe have much more defined physiques that withstand the more physical nature of play on the old continent - especially in the PL. The prime example is Antonio Valencia who bulked up like crazy by the time he spent a season at United. This absolutely plays a huge part in the ability to have the confidence to physically defend or take a hit from a defender. Top tier European squads will absolutely invest the time and resources to help players develop like this.

For now, you can see Campana's evolution into that role - the kid is absolutely jacked. Expect Hincapie to also follow a similar development of physique. I'd think Moises will be there, too, as he spends more time in the gym and working with physios. Pervis seems shorter and will probably develop like Hulk.

You can tell that the Federacion and the press is desperately trying to scapegoat the altitude for poor performance...moving the game vs. Bolivia to Guayaquil seems like a strange situation.

For one, if the altitude was so detrimental to players, how did the same squad that beat Urugay 4-2, Colombia 6-1, and Paraguay 2-0 somehow lose at sea level to Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina? How did Peru, who fielded a squad that isn't entirely comprised of chaskis still beat us in Quito? And how did we tie against Chile against a team who wasn't exactly full of andinismo climbers?

We're losing games due to poor clock management, a lack of collective focus, and poor tactics.

This is very true we never go out and make a claim for these bad calls against us. You have to Admire Luis Chango as crazy and bizarre as that man may be he go hard when it comes to making claims for his team so far that he received numerous penalties, and sanctions for voicing out his opinions and arguing. This is another aspect in where fef lets us down. No voice or balls to back up the team.

There’s no advantage of playing in the altitude against Bolivia and might as well get them acclimatized to the heat since we are not playing any home games afterwards.
