Probably just guessing. Guardiola has said that he wants to go into international management but it's supposedly Brazil that he wants to manage apart from Spain.
I think England or Spain is most likely. Spain for obvious reasons, and England because we'll pay him more than anyone else.
I'm not sure Guardiola would be a fantastic international manager, since he left Barcelona anyway his champions league management is often really quite poor and leads to his sides being turned over by worse teams. Certainly if he was to succeed it would surely have to be with Spain who at least have the players to do what he wants, something that would be a huge obstacle managing England given the central midfielders we have.
City normally play to ball winning players in fernandinho and rhodri. Sometimes one so I don't see it that differently from rice and Phillips plus we have more technical midfielders in by then like Bellingham
Rodri is really more of a passer than he is a ball winning midfielder, he's far more of a Busquets type than anything England has. Fernandinho is less the usual Guardiola passer (though he is good on the ball) but he is generally paired with two very good passers. Even England's young central midfielders aren't really the type Guardiola tends to play. Bellingham really isn't some midfield metronome that Guardiola loves to have in his teams, his consistency of his passing is probably the worst part of his game. Maybe Foden will work his way into central midfield and is more in the profile of a Guardiola midfielder, though tellingly he's struggled generally when he's played central midfield in comparison to his wide performances for City. None of which is to say England don't have talented midfielders who can do well, but I'm not sure they would for the most part ever suit Guardiola.
He has zero connection to them. They're shite nowadays. They're half way across the world. They hardly have a ronaldo Rivaldo etc. But good luck to him
BTW aj. Im not having a pop at u. Just this fallacy that everyone wants to manage Brazil just because they were good 20 years ago. Brazil barely have any top class players anymore. May as well manage Hungary because they were good in the 50s
Who started this stupid Guardiola gossip and why are we even discuss it? Also rather have and English coach, let Guardiola go where he wants to.
Thomas Tuchel admits Ben Chilwell was left 'mentally tired' by not featuring for England at Euro 2020 https://t.co/nvU2U4STVo— Mail Sport (@MailSport) September 13, 2021 If this is true then maybe there could be some issues with Southgate’s man management skills. I mean if I was Chilwell, I think I might have been a bit miffed off at being left out for a right back. Not exactly a confidence booster.
I bet Chilwell was miffed when trippier started left back, Southgate baffles the mind at times especially when it comes to substitutions!
Agreed. We as a heavyweight national team should not be having a foreign manager. I hope that the FA would never do that again.
The Chilwell stuff and no subs v Poland are more reminders of why I always feel you have to take the team morale and puff pieces about great man management skills with a big pinch of salt.
