It's worth pointing out that Porto B plays in Portugal's second division. Nacional was relegated last year from the top division. So this is probably a comparable level to to when he was at Telstar and beats playing for Norwich reserves against other reserve teams.
ended 1-1 according to my interwebs..

It won't change at all. He's under contract with Norwich and it's up to them to ensure that he gets paid. The football rules, as well as contract law, mandate that if a borrowing club is late with its portion of a player's wages or the rent on his accommodation there, the parent club has to step in and pay the guy in full and then sort things out with the other lot afterwards. He might even be a bit better off financially; Porto will have to provide his accommodation, so he won't have rent to pay in England, and there's sometimes a meal allowance thrown in.
His wages can't be that high by English standards since he was brought in as a prospect while they were still in the Championship. His career and earnings will largely be determined by the next contract. Does he break into a first team and become a regular in a top league or does he get released and end up at a lower division team or back in MLS on a trial? He's 21. This is the year things like that get decided.

"Sebastian Soto came on in the 58th minute as FC Porto B won 3-1 at home to C.D. Mafra on Sunday. Porto are now seventh in the LigaPro with eight points from five games."
Once they go up, they don't go back down. I understand the logic of the suggestion but I'm a sensitive soul and wouldn't be able to handle the comments if I did something like that.
Also, like in the Eerste Divisie, this is not really an "academy" league. It's Portugal's 2nd division and most of the teams are "A" teams in a "B" league. Only Porto and Benifica are running "B" teams in the "LigaPro"
It should. There are also way too many threads of obscure players in this forum that only get posts in them from one poster who just posts line ups. Clogs up the threads.
This is OT, but once ages ago I wondered if there wasn't an easy way to make sub-threads by leagues (or countries?), so it would be easier, in a way, to find the EPL, Bund, Serie A guys... But that also has its issues, so might not make anything easier long term.
I think it's because he's not abroad, and it's just a rumors thread now. Rumors go in the Academy forum.
Yes, but in Soto's case it would be "going down" (to YAA) via going to a lower level league. In Dike's case, it's by virtue of no longer being a YA at all (for now?).
