Back to being that "clutch" player he was before. Vina will hopefully learn a lot from this. He was very poor as the game went on on both sides of the pitch. Good energy but that was raw. Take these Jose wins.
Rui saved us from humiliation, MoTM. Vina was awful but he has his excuse, he wasn’t 100%. Eldor did what Pellegrini refused to do, just lay off the ball to the guy in best position. Tammy got 2 chances but failed to convert. Zaniolo was non existent in this match. Sir Bryan continuing to show his worth, big game from him. Once Jose switched to 4-4-2 we lost all control of the game, so one of the teams was going to score and luckily it was us. This is typical Mourinho, when he is chasing a goal he always goes suicidal, and it works more often than not. Huge 3 points but we clearly have a lot to improve.
Mourinho running down the sideline was electric. 1000 games in charge639 wins25 trophiesCelebrating a last minute winner, priceless.Never change Jose Mourinho 😂 pic.twitter.com/8eoGwv1b36— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) September 12, 2021
A phenomenal game which Sassuolo certainly did not deserve to lose. I put our below par performance down to having several players away with their NTs for two weeks. Grazie Roma!
Roma of old would have crumbled and probably lost after that equalizer. Good subs by Mourinho, going all in for the W. Big win, and dropped points by Juventus, Inter, Atalanta, and Lazio.
As stated, there's a lot of room to improve here. Luck has been on our side, but it's important to remember also that, when you're generally going about things the right way, luck is more likely gonna fall on your side. Our midfield was piss poor tonight, that was the main issue....oh and Vina was not fully fit, I could see that from the first 10 minutes.
I agree with you. It is also worth noting that Pellegrini was fantastic tonight, such a pity he didn't score.
Fully expected Pellegrini (AKA GOAT) to score after that dribble. Nice assist though and good running to drag Roma forward every time Sassuolo seemed to gain control.
He had a clear sight of goal every shot and usually buries one of them, can't blame him. Tammy should have finished the rebound but hit the post once again.
El Shaarawy in the super sub role this season is going to save a lot of points for us. I don't think there's another player I'd want the ball to fall to when we are launching them into the box trying to find a goal. Vina I thought played pretty well in the first 30 but fell off a cliff as the game went on. If he's not fit then that makes sense. He just has a tendency to try to burst forward as soon as he wins the ball rather than going for the simpler option. But overall he already looks like a really solid Serie A player, even despite his second half. Edit: And Patricio was fantastic. Easy motm
They’re so commited to their bad takes on Pellegrini it’s too late for their egos to turn back, pretty hilarious seeing the mental gymnastics they go through after he plays well
Once he has the ball in the box his brain goes into retard mode, and he somehow consistently does the wrong thing. There’s no mental gymnastics just watch the games.
I give a lot of credit to Sassuolo as well. They have something good there with Scamacca and Raspadori. Djuricic fills his role and I really like Lopez, underrated regista. Brehmer is one of those players you hate to play against.
Pelleshit has improved, but is still shit. Diabolical misses yesterday. All those years, we were stuck with two dog shit Keepers. Most of you imbeciles, saying Lopezshit and Olsen were good keepers... Honestly have you no shame? New owners, and bam.... We have a decent keeper. Pallottashit was honestly this biggest shit head of all time.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, SES is that dude. So glad when he finally came back. I hope to see him continue coming through like this all season.
No team can make a good run with a sh*t keeper - that's one of the major reasons we were struggling so much after we sold Alisson and brough those donkeys to replace him. That's the last place you want to cheap out on a player. I haven't commited pen to paper on Pellegrini, but allow me to do so now - he is sh*t too. In some matches he is a gold-wrapped sh*t, but that's the best I'd ever be able to say about him or his gf Bryan. Mentally weak players that crumble like accordions every time they play a competent midfield. Neither him nor Bryan can intimidate a little girl out of her ice-cream and that's all you need know about either of our bright midfield stars. Let's hope they suffice as place-holders until something better comes around. They haven't in prevous seasons. The trademark "I'm just a tourist here, where's the bathroom, please?" expression of our captain:
Imagine thinking Florenzi is good and Pellegrini is bad. At least the other guys have the consistency of hating on all Romans lol
It was the previous game that seen him get his scoring boots on. That was one game though. It's good in one sense he had finally gained some confidence to dribble with authority and take a shot however he had 2 chances to lay off the ball and wrap things up for the team before the late sass rally. The game could have so easily been lost on bad individual decisions. The play that was the most revealing for me was in the first half. When he came deep, he had time on the ball to do what he does best in his game. He is a great long ball passer. It also allowed Zaniolo that run through the centre highlighting both in their best positions. This is what can get the best out of both. That will hopefully come when a right winger of enough quality can be brought in. El Shar will be a starter shortly imo from the left. Hes impacting the games too much to not be given his chance shortly. He needed those 6 months to get up to speed after an 18 month holiday.
