The UEFA Euro broadcasting rights in South America were sold to DirecTV and TNT Sports (both owned by AT&T). I have cable TV, and TNT Sports is unavailable in Uruguay, so I can't watch any matches.
Found this interesting tweet the other day, and was curious if this would be sold to something like ESPN+ or Paramount+ here in the US: ⚽️📺 Droits TV : 9 championnats européens (🇩🇰🇨🇭🇳🇴🇵🇱🇬🇧🇸🇰🇮🇸🇱🇻🇰🇿) se sont associés pour proposer un "package" commun de leurs droits TV internationaux sur la période 2021-24.📊 116 clubs représentés et + de 1.500 matchs / an.🎯 Générer 20 M$ de recettes sur la période©️Sportico pic.twitter.com/hCYDKoZB2X— Observatoire du Sport Business (@Obs_Sport_Biz) June 16, 2021 It says that 9 European leagues are combining their TV rights for international distribution for 2021 through 2024. The nine countries are Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, N. Ireland, Slovakia, Iceland, Latvia, and Kazakhstan. They are banding together not necessarily for monetary reasons (because $20 million over 116 teams isn't a lot), but more for exposure of their leagues. I really hope this is picked up in the US (more for selfish reasons being a fan of Swiss football more than anything).
That package is a BIIIIIGGG stretch. Outside of those home markets, who is that REALLY for? Now if Scotland, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Croatia all joined forces? Now THAT'D be something.
Agreed. That package would sell a bit easier there. I wish it happened but most of those FAs are clueless...
I had no idea where to put this. Especially since this news only really effects Dish subscribers... ...but Dish has added some streaming channels from Prende TV. The only one that is soccer related is channel 870-01 which is LIMAX. It shows a lot of Mexican League highlights and replays of matches.
Not completely accurate. You can still get it PPV on your cable/satellite provider (assuming you have one — Fubo is the only provider streaming) but for the approximate cost of one game, you can get a month of Fubo Latino (although I think you have to buy it in three month chunks) which gets you all the games, as well as other Fubo Latino programming. So unless you’re interested in only one or two games over the next three months, Fubo Latino is a no brainer.
Austrian Bundesliga now in the US on 'For The Fans' (FTF). The channel is available on ROKU, Plex, Fanatiz and some other platforms. Their website: https://www.ftfnext.com/ Details: https://soccertvblog.com/austrian-bundesliga-finds-american-home-on-ftf/ SA
So Fox is getting Italian Serie B? https://www.legab.it/la-serie-bkt-s...N7KCx-9-xndq_luVred9fbleGkfn1-vE2Bq2RZ0UZVajA
ElevenSports & OneFootball have announced they have acquired GLOBAL rights to a pool of 9 leagues. The leagues covered are Danish Superliga, Swiss Super League, Norwegian Eliteserien, Polish Extraklasa, Slovakian Fortuna, Northern Ireland Premier League, Latvian Virsliga, Icelandic Top League & Kazakhstani Premier. Matches will be provided for free (their words) on the various apps/platforms. Will be interesting to see if any of the matches making to Eleven's linear TV channel. Only the Polish Ekstraklasa is indicated as "blocked" in the US. The rights begin this weekend. SA
