Yes, getting another clubs young talent, and developing him for them on a loan, so they can consequently sell him for big bucks, is exactly what this club needs. Make sure there is no buy clause in the contract ... that way Chelsea can maximise his potential and cash in on him, because this club are run by a bunch of retards who apparently don't seem to have the common sense to plan for a squad to suit the tactics they were clearly aware Rose wanted to use coming into the club. Hmmm, let's see, Rose wants to use a diamond midfield and two up top, leaving no width in the team ... well, we have Paslack and a 30 year oLD Meunier along with an injured Morey, let's not buy a fking wing back because clearly a fking wing back is not the most important position in this set up : ) I am done supporting this club until Watzke fuks off once and for all.
I may not agree with the board and they make terrible decisions, but I will always support the board. Hudson-Odoi should buy the board time to correct our mistakes. We need to strike quickly to get the best of the Germans ie Baku, Wirtz, have a look at the German boy at Salzburg.
Wirtz will be hard to get, but completely agree with going for German targets. Have mentioned Adeyemi a lot as he is a stated BVB fan and imo would have been a better signing then Malen. Baku is another one that would be relatively affordable, and for me should have been a priority signing this summer. He would fit perfectly into the system and is likely to become a NT starter under Flick. An alternative would have been Klostermann, incidentally another BVB fan. Adeyemi + Baku would probably have cost at most a combined 45-50m. I also feel the club should be looking to give the likes of Knauff, Raschl and some of the other upcoming talents more chances. Some highly rated German talents in the reserves/academy that could be built around in the future.
What you fail to realise, is that this decision will only compound the problem ... you don't put a bandaid over a gangrened limb, in the hopes of buying time ... this issue should have been priority #1 going into the transfer window. This management is inept, they're not interested in competing, only hanging on to whatever vestiges of power they have. The whole clubs ethos is defunct, and it is now a littany of mistakes littering as far back as Klopps years ... do you not realise how far we have come from those days ? So, lets buy a bandaid and pretend everything is alright shall we ... everybody smile : ) everything is okay.
Apparently it's Wolfsburg's Pongravic on a loan that we are interested in that can play as CB and RB. Played in Salzburg when Rose was there. Supposedly, fast and relatively good build up play but had some discipline problems.
He is a CB that can play RB. Tbh a proper RB would be preferable and as a RB he is not really an upgrade on Meunier. He does have some pace but is very tall and would be better suited to RCB in a back 3. Which is a possibility if a rwb/rw is signed. But he is better then nothing. Hudson-Odoi on a straight loan is an out and out panic signing. Why the club didn’t plan recruitment properly is beyond me, it’s been known for months that Sancho was leaving.
Odoi is a winger, at a pinch you could play him as a RWB, but the club already havE hazard who plays at LWB/RWB for his national team, so even if the idea is to push the formation to use wing backs, that loan signing makes 0 sense ... completely 0 sense ... in fact, I would go so far as to say it makes negative sense, because for the life of me, I can not understand what this club are doing. I really liked the Dalot link, I think he is undervalued at Man Utd who also have wan Bissacka, and so hopeD Dalot would push for a move. It would also allow the club to see Schulz because dalot has played LB as well. This management has gone senile ... end of story. Kobel RB? - Akanji - Hummels - Guerrero Dahoud - Can (only because there is no other option here at this point) - Brandt Malen - Halaand - Reus Honestly, this team is so messed up it is hard to even fit players into a system because of how discombobulated the recruitment strategy has been. For instance, Can as a DM is a poor choice, because he is rash and impulsive, and the dude has the tendency to run up the pitch leaving gaps behind him. Malen and Reus play the same position, and if you play a two up top you have no width or a RB to provide it ... 1 or 2 days to transfer windows end ... unless they pull a rabbit, its going to be one looong and sh!tty season.
Hudson-Odoi was a panic signing, but it makes a whole lot of sense. We are desperate and we badly need a winger. Hudson-Odoi is a far, far more talented player than Hazard. Hazard is plain not good enough. Hudson-Odoi is one of the most talented young players out there. There's a reason Bayern were going to pay 60 million for him. At the same time he is not performing to his potential and Chelsea aren't going to play him in his favourite position, because it does not exist. I repeat if we get Hudson-Odoi we are getting one of the most talented wingers in world football. It might literally save our season and if he flies will allow us to maybe make the CL quarters or so and possibly win a cup. The problem is that it is a shirt term signing and will leave us in trouble next season. However. If we were signing a winger permanently Hudson-Odoi would be second my list after Wirtz if you can all him a winger.
Looks like that willgo through. It's very much a meh signing as he known to be unmotivated and temperamental. Let's hope his past link with Rose can get the best out of him. Apparently, personal terms have been agreed with Hudson-Odoi but it all depends on Chelsea being able to sign Saul first.
A pathetic signing and made me because the board were incompetent. This is really stupid and shows how awfully run things are. Even worse we almost got exceptionally lucky by being able to get Hudson-Odoi on loan, but that does not looki like it is happening. A pathetic show. Without a winger we will just about make top 4, lose in the last 16 and probably not win the cup. It will be a fight for top 4.
No more transfers according to Zorc. Pongracic is an ok signing that will provide cover in defence, but overall I have to say that the clubs transfer dealings have not been impressive in recent times. Neglecting clear weaknesses and spending a combined 110m on Schulz, Can, Bellingham and Malen over the past 3 years seems pretty wasteful. Replacing Hakimi with Meunier hasn’t worked out too well either. Not signing a winger or right back isn’t great, but I think that having not done that the time has come to give younger homegrown talents their chance to shine. The club has a strong academy so why not use it. Start by giving Knauff and Raschl more playing time, but also look at the likes of Semic and Bamba as potential medium to long term fixes in those RB/W positions.
Pongracic is an awful desperate signing. This window has been a complete disaster and people need to be held accountable for this. Everything about it was pathetic. Rose has been hung out to dry. If Reus gets injured for any period of time this team will not make top 4 or get out of the group. I've lost hope for this season, but Watzke and Zorc need to go.
Leipzig can sign anyone as they're bankrolled by RB. Moriba is a CM and we have too many players there as is. We need a winger and RB badly!
Should be a win, but Besiktas have made a good start so take nothing for granted. Hopefully Hummels will start, his presence will help hold the defensive shape which was a mess yesterday.
Welcome to the forum. Yes we should win in Besiktas, but we need to be careful with Reus. You are right we should also create a CL forum. In January we should try and get Hudson-Odoi on loan and bring in a DM, even if we have to sell Bellingham.
Very true. We will win. I hope there are no more missing players. Champions league is a current topic, it would be nice. It should be on the Borussia Dortmund page. I tried to open it but I guess it's not allowed.
Welcome! We use the General Discussion thread to talk about all the competitions and popen up a new thread for every specific game.
Thanks. I'm sorry for the confusion. I don't want to put it in the wrong section. After that, I will write on the general topic.
Adeyemi had recent talks with Bayern but apparently, we are also interested and according to some rumors, we seem to be favored by him. I guess he'd choose Bayern if they can convince him that he gets enough playing time should Coman leave. I've seen the 3 NT games that he participated in. In the first game, I thought he's way too raw and nowhere near the level to be useful. Nothing he tried worked until he had that really nice goal in that combo with Wirtz. I thought he looked promising in his third NT game and I started to get why he's already getting called up for the NT. I also noticed that there was a good chemistry with Wirtz, those two are a great fit.
