Apparently he will be in the U-23 team and he can’t be loaned out this season because of the special permit obtained to play in England
Lol. So he resigned with Santos until 2023… which means he won’t be free of contract at the end of the loan like initially thought..
Subs. This means we have 3 youth attackers in solid teams? Not bad. Plus Two youth midfielders abroad.
Devils advocate here. I read that he actually signed an extension and this is only a loan deal. What are the real chances he even sniffs the 1st team at all ? I suspect Santos made him sign as a condition to go for a short time, if he actually makes an impact then great maybe Newcastle signs him for a nice transfer fee. If not they ship him back to santos and he got the European dream out of his system. It’s a win win for Santos, maybe even Santi since it will be a good learning experience at the very least
Charlie spent the same span of time in Spain and came back to be an u disputed starter with his club, if Santi returns it would be be a bad thing as long as he leaves when he’s playing well before the age of 23. That’s where Charlie messed up.
His loan ends in a year and a half…which is in January 2023…he’ll be free to negotiate with whoever he wants.
Yikes. Sounds bad when you read the tweet, sounds worse when you hear him leaving a gaping door open for the yanks.. Exclusive interview w/ Newcastle’s Santiago Muñoz drops today on #FutbolAmericas .. A really impressive kid.Asked him if it was a difficult decision on choosing Mexico over #USMNT, he said the following. “I’m not married to Mexico. Door is still open.” 🇲🇽 🇺🇸 #ESPNPlus pic.twitter.com/IQ4pL94jEg— herculez gomez (@herculezg) September 2, 2021
