Big F bomb after he shot the ball over the bar from close range. Needed to be on target as Steffen Freund from the booth said
Yep, should’ve done much better there. But I think in general good things happen for Gladbach when Scally has the ball. He always seems to do a good job taking space and finding progressive passes.
Yes, a couple minutes later he threaded the needle into a dangerous position with a left-footed pass.
Scalley has such great instincts for the fullback position. His team didn't want it enough today but Scalley played great. BMG should have a go at Hoppe, if there's anything left in the cupboard to pay for him. They seem like a solid team in need of a vitamin B shot.
I started watching at minute 7 and he was turned twice in the same play. He seems to have problems with swifty players.
Scally is so good. Just took down a 60 yard pass with a defender draped on his back, plays a 1-2, then puts in a perfect cross to a trailing Stindl. As I write this, he puts in another great ball that Hoffman should’ve done better with.
Scally is extremely classy on the ball. He’s put in some good crosses and been very composed on the ball.
Scally is so good in so many departments but his off the ball movement/positioning is what makes him stand out, plus he runs with joy and confidence. I'm tired of watching the Cannons and Yedlins and Dests as I sit watching on TV and I'm constantly trying to move them around from 6000 miles away. With Scally I can just sit back and enjoy.
Jordi-esque swing thru the box from Scally, nobody open, just glides out again, no problem we'll get you next time. This is so much fun.
Great track back and ball recovery in BMG's box by Scally who proceeds to clear the ball nicely to a teammate who sets up Stindl for the goal. BMG 1 - DSC 0
Has to be partially at fault for that goal right at the half. Ginter kept him inside but Scally left him with a lot of space
He definitely should have sensed the danger there and moved earlier on the goal scorer. Technically he may have reasoned that Ginter, the RCB, was in position to stop the goal scorer but that was overly optimistic in that situation.
https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bunde...efeld-live-line-ups-stats-scally-thuram-17226 There's a post-game snippet from Joe Scally interview at the bottom of the linked page. It's followed by an early-season profile video (Bundeliga PR department, it seems.) ETA: I had trouble getting the video to run on Safari on my Mac, but it ran with no problem on Chrome.

Been watching Scally all year, and if Greg doesn’t call him up in October, it will be a mistake. He’s more than ready to claim his place.
BMG look to be playing a 3-5-2 with Scally as a LWB if I’m seeing it correctly. He looks every bit the part for BMG. You cannot tell he’s the most inexperienced player on the pitch. I really like what I’ve seen from the kid all season long. He’s not flashy. He’s just so damn consistent and plays smart at efficiently. A pro’s pro as some would say. Different player but has that longevity and consistency feel like Cherundolo.
Just stopped a 1v1 as the last man back, took the ball off the attacker like he was a 10 year veteran vs a boy. Been brilliant today, hasn’t set a foot wrong.
