He is on his way to Arsenal it seems. He should never have signed for real he had offers from clubs that where way better at developing talents like Dortmund.
I kinda get the impression that we have a lot of deals very close to completion but there are some very complicated chain-reaction prerequisite deals (club A will agree our deal only if club B accepts an unrelated deal) that need to happen to start al the dominoes falling. or maybe eff-all is going on and nowt will happen.
So, if Ronaldo moves back to Madrid, and Halland goes to CheL$ki, then that frees up Mbappe for a potential move to LFC, but only if Harry Kane stays at Spurs and Lewandowski moves to PSG…
I heard Shaq is only willing to move if his favorite tea lady comes with. So it's really all down to Doris.
Oh Baby! Former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund legend Michael Rummenigge has been speaking to German outlet Sport 1 and has claimed that Liverpool is somewhere Haaland could move to. Rummenigge cites the financial issues of Real Madrid and Barcelona, plus with Robert Lewandowski at Bayern, Lionel Messi at PSG, Harry Kane potentially heading to Manchester City and Manchester United having plenty of young attacking players in their squad, the options for Haaland aren’t as plentiful as they once looked. With Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino still firing on all cylinders, Liverpool’s attack looks just fine right now. That said, Liverpool have spent big to sign in key areas in the past and that quality over quantity approach has worked out very well for Klopp. Can you imagine Haaland banging goals in at the Kop? Now that would be epic and it appears that Liverpool could be able to break the bank to sign him, especially if at least one of their front three moves on in the next 12 months. Haaland to Liverpool would be epic in so many ways and although this is only a Dortmund legend talking about it, the more you think about it, the more it starts to make sense. As long as the financials add up, it is a very good fit. (from NCB Sports)
Yyyeaaahhh, lots of chatter about Haaland and Mbappe coming here next summer. I'll believe it when they have the scarf above their head.
If Kane moves, it really changes up the market for mbappe and haaland next summer. Haaland will be the shiny toy barca try to buy despite him in no way, shape, or form fitting in with their preferred style. real will chase mbappe. And we'll be there to challenge for both of them.
Liverpool have agreed a fee of £9.5m with Lyon for Xherdan Shaqiri. Initial bid was around £4m— paul joyce (@_pauljoyce) August 22, 2021
The word from the club is that Harvey Elliott is the replacement for Shaqiri. If that is true, I’m totally fine with it. However, I don’t believe anything they say. Klopp said there can be no incomings until someone moved out. Now there is an opening so let’s see what happens next.
could be the first of the dominos to fall. Shaq was a great part of the squad but simply didn't do the defensive work Klopp needs. best of luck to him.
Origi needs to go too but it looks to me that he's happy to stay and sit . Could well be another who will run his contract down to the end.
Which he has every right to do. He makes good money and enjoys playing for Liverpool. It might not appeal to him to join a lesser club and possibly have to play for less money. Contracts work both ways. Just like Spurs can tell Kane he can’t go to City because he signed a six year contract, Liverpool can’t force Origi to leave because they gave him a contract. I think clubs might start to rethink the practice of extending a players contract just for the sake of maintaining their sell on value. Players are becoming more and more likely to see out their contracts and leave on a free because it gives them more control over their career.
Yep , agreed he certainly does , Suss but I've never been impressed by players who do this type of thing. Guys happy and willing to not play and collect their cheque go down in my estimation. I sincerely hope Divock isn't one of them. However, he wouldn't be the first and won't be the last. I think in Origi's case he's not likely to get a better contract elsewhere given his lack of playing time recently at Liverpool so he'll ride this one to the end. He's reportedly on £77,000/week. I'd like to replace him with a more useful upgrade but odds on that may not happen until we shift his wages off of the budget.
Considering Elliott's emergence, its hard to see where another midfielder gets any starts. Assuming we get to the CL quarters, that 48 PL/CL starts for 3 midfield positions, 144 in total. Quick estimate of starts for each of our current midfielders based on what they have generally done over the last 2 or 3 years and what is reasonable to expect for this season, provided there isn't a significant injury: This spread of starts includes a decrease of 9 starts for Jones on what he had last year and that Keita returns to the form/availability of the couple of season before last. Klopp and Edwards concluding there isn't a need to make a move on a midfielder this summer seems a reasonable one. Regarding the forwards, expected starts currently look something like the following: Firmino had 35 starts last season, but I expect him and Jota to have a more even share this season. There is seemingly 5-10 starts for someone who would be an upgrade on Origi/Minamino or Ox, but you'd expect that would require either Origi or Minamino to go if we brought someone in.
