Interested to see how he looks on his natural right side.

I got to check some of it.... I didn’t see the two goals but I’m most concerned with the lack of a left foot, nervousness under pressure, poor technique on the ball, and most of all, I saw a number of times, he could have opened his body up and pressed forward and instead, every time, he made the back pass which put Gladbach under pressure.

Polar opposite from what I saw against Bayern.

He tried to catch/touch the ball while falling to force a call but missed touching the ball. Not a good game for our young fella.

I keep saying his future is probably inside as a DM. He doesn't have the recovery speed required to be a top-notch FB. His physical attributes are that he is strong as an ox. He is not dumb. He has a good soccer sense and vision. His passing is usually good. Yes, not using his left is a knock on his game. He is young and may still develop it.

ESPN interviewed injured Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba during halftime. Looks like they are putting a little more effort in their coverage this year.

He definitely looks more comfortable on the right. Also, I've forgotten how hard it is to watch a game for a fullback.

    Diaby is skinning Bensebaini now.

Diaby seems about as fast as they make pro soccer players

3-0 scoreline seems unfair to BMG… they’ve had chances and had a lot of the ball as long as I’ve been watching

Yeah unfair. It should be 5-0 at this point.

I think Scally (or someone’s else?) could have done better on the cross.

On the 3rd goal? Not Scally's fault. He was in a position where he was defending the ball AND an overlapping attacker by himself. The defender on the other side of the field was at fault. For some strange reason he ran into the box to mark no one, and the ball was sent right over his head to the guy he HAD been marking, who then scored the goal.

Scally with yet another poor marking effort, leading to a shot off the post which should have been a goal.

A decent cross from Scally to Stindl.

You’re literally posting in the game day forum. That thread is in the game day forum. It is titled Joe Scally all games pbp. It is not the regular overall thread. That thread is in the yanks abroad forum....not the game day forum. The scally play by play thread is the only other thread in this forum that has a post in the last three hours. It’s where other posters are discussing him getting torched. If you want to discuss the game with other posters....you may want to go there.

My post was correct, pointed you in the correct direction, and was nowhere near as douchy as your response.

you’ve been here twenty years and are unaware that duplicate threads get merged? Really?

Another guy blows by Scally on the attacking left side, for pace. Good grief. Una pesadilla.

Yeah Bensabaini did not cover himself in glory on that play. I don't think he was ready to play yet.

Gladbach's defense just did one of the worst offside traps I have ever seen.

This keeper has not had the best of games, I must say. He probably should have saved at least 2 of the goals.
