think most of the English people I have meet is nice as individuals however sometimes in group my experince is they like to humiliate Germans.Remember especially one time hanging out with my friends (live in an anglophied country) and some students from England and they where all starting to talking bad about Germans and Germany, without taking into consideration/ knowing I am of German descent. This occasion in combination with other ones has resulted in that I nerver want England to win. Think the main reasons for this is ofcourse WW2 but also some kind of jealousy towards Germany to always get up and succeed in many things like winning 4 WCs. Heard something that Margaret Thatcher wanted Germany to be an agriculture nation post WW2 but they became Europes economical and industrial engine.
Hope Flick brings him with in his first troup selection in sept. Maybe that can boost him a little and give confidence.
I will believe in Flick blindly for about 12 months , will just be curious and interested in what he does and decides... then next year this time I will start criticizing if I believe I need to ... and if he crashes out the WC in a bad way then only I will start really bitchy complaining like I did with Loew the last 3 years
I hate English NT fans from a simple reason, during my high school era, most of them coming from MU fans background. And just a little bit coming from Arsenal fans and even lesser from Liverpool fans. And I hate MU so much especially after that 2-1 UCL final travesty against Bayern. Needless to say, I hate MU very much.
Historical digression: I think you are referring to the Morgenthau plan, which was a post WW2 plan to reduce Germany to an agricultural state. Vengeance and fear were the motivation, IMHO. British PM at the time was Churchill. Thatcher was much later. Sort of way off topic: Note about English and German fans: It always struck me as inspirational the way that Liverpool and Dortmund fans got along. Although enemies on the pitch, there always seemed to be some element of mutual respect (I always like it when fans of both clubs sing "You'll never walk alone"). If English NT and German NT fans had the same relationship, I'd start to root for the English NT (but NEVER against Germany). (Maybe I am just viewing this from rose-coloured glasses 9,000 KMs away).
Thank you for correcting. I mixed up. ( concerning Thatcher I was thinking of the discussions and documentation of the German character and the potential consequences of reunification.) I am lucky this is not a history forum. Would have been more embarrising
After all the English are the Germans' long lost cousins, since they are descended from the Anglians and the Saxons, two Germanic tribes who settled in England during the early middle ages.
also England's royal family is German too, LMAO. Queen Victoria=House of Hanover than after Victoria it was, House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha due to WWI anti-German sentiments rising. It was changed to House of Windsor.... but can't escape or hide fact that England's monarchy are Germans.
Definitely see Dorsch being a gun player in the not do distance future, we already know the immense qualities of young Wirtz
Surely after forcing by Jogi to witness his strikerless formation for so long, now Germany playing with Richter and Kruse upfront doesnt turn you on?
Brazil 3-0, German attack nonexistent. Nope. Not unless you have a high quality CF. (A little unfair considering the olympic squad seems to be more of getting anyone who could breath on the squad, not representing the best we could bring).
Can't say that they are uninterested, not in sync I agree with. But this is not the best U23 team that we could have put out there. I will always believe that the German team will try their best, but when the quality is not there, then there is not much you can do about it.
Forget Olympics attack Richter will never play for Germany Senior and Amiri is useful for being jack of all trades that is good for depth option but no long term future for Seniors. as for Kruse best of 3 but likely no future for Senior. Olympics likely his last time playing DFB.
World Champion! “It's a goal that I have for my entire career. I want to win titles with the national team ", explains the former Cologne resident. Participating in the World Cup in Qatar in 2022 is what drives him. Wirtz:" Of course I would be happy if I could be at the next tournament. The next step would be for the A National team to be appointed. " For coach Seoane, it's only a matter of time. The Swiss says: "I see the potential in him that he will become a technical leader on the pitch with his footballing qualities."
Hope our players start to be more pragmatic and greedy to score goals. Gnabry, Sané, Werner, Havertz etz very good players but seems happy to play nice and do assists. Really liked how Chiesa (like a Perisic on speed or something) always wanted to go towards goal and take the shoot.
AZ: Thomas Mueller wants to continue playing for the German national team. Oliver Bierhoff: I didn't get any negative signal. Thomas, like Mats, integrated well and led the team at EURO. I assume that he will continue to play with Flick and will be at our disposal.
For WC, Thomas could continue. His performance in WC was day and night compared to EC. On top of that, he has completely different playing style compared to CR7. Even 30's something, he could still perform well, as long as he played as no 10 behind striker, not on the wings.
Former Bundesliga referee Bibiana Steinhaus is a candidate for the presidency of the DFB. A new president will be elected during the general meeting of the DFB on 11 March 2022 [@SPORTBILD] pic.twitter.com/jEBYugFyec— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) July 27, 2021 Can this woman please red card Bierhoff?
just found out she's married to Howard Webb, LMAO. also Steinhaus lives in Langenhagen, and is a trained police officer with the rank of Chief Inspector bust those shitty corrupt DFB execs!!!
Haha a ref marrying a ref. Plus Webb is also a police officer. They have a lot in common. I didn't rate either as a ref lol.
